*DAMN R6 Forum

I am so pissed off right now you cant believe it.  So, i'm at school right now using the macs here and when I walked into the lab, we used to have about 250 Dells and 40-50 emacs.  Now, they got rid of most of the macs and we only have 8 macs left.  I couldn't believe it, I went straight to the computing office and gave the computing guys shit.

First thing I said was "who was the idiot who decided to get rid of the macs and replace them with crappy computers".  They couldn't believe I said that and they just looked at me and said "well cuz most ppl use PCs" and I said, "well those ppl are stupid" and the IT guy said "its not stupid b/c all those macs had only OS 9.2 and the PCs have XP" and I said "OS 9.2 is still better than XP".

I also said "thats why u are supposed to have OS X.3 panther on those machines" and they are like "yea but with OS X.3 it requires a certain software for security reasons" and I was like "no it doesn't, you simply plug (install) and use, thats the great thing about mac, its so dummy proof".

I told them"its your PCs you have to worry about fortying them with all yer viruses, not mac".

They saw I was so peeved about it and I left by saying "whomever yer Manager is or whomever made the decision to get rid of those macs, has absolutely no knowledge of computers" and then I left.

They told me they moved all those other macs into another building, so I might go there more often now, cuz at least there they have about 30-40 macs instead of the 8 here.

I think I am going to give them a real bad email, give them crap, I just can't believe they would would get rid of most of the macs, just so they can accomodate PC users, what about us mac users? are we any less important?

Anyway, I just thought I would come on here and vent my frustration about this.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I should add to my email, feel free to give me feedback, I'll hold on the email, so I can see what others think.

tell them some bs. like you work at pixar in the summers, and that they're making a HUGE mistake. add some statistics on the growth of the mac world and give some examples of  companies like pixar that refuse to use anything but macs.

so they just moved them?
if theyd truly gotten rid of them you could have taken them all and made a little 30 emac cluster with xgrid. that would have owned.

I think you should kidnap whoever is responsible and hold them until the college gets rid of ALL of the PCs and replaces them with PowerMac G5 computers.  If you want to know some good roping techniques so that your hostage doesn't get loose just pm me.

First find a new university then as a going away prank rent a uhal truck take all the e-macs and set up a lan party in the caffitieria on campus.  Jk but if they throw them away like garbage snach some up before any looters come in the night and destroy them.  My school does that cep for one it is a high school second the whole school is run by macs third they only throw away macs to get new ones.  I once tryed to take a monitor from the trash out side the school I made it home but the monitor eaither didn't work or had gotten fucked up because of rain.  

What is one retarted man's trash is another smart man's tresure.

 O yeah you happen to get a hold of them e-macs send me one.  Or even mauti who knows what you could do with 40 emacs
