Title: WTF! Auto banning is getting out of control. Post by: spike on January 27, 2004, 02:17:04 am So I am talking to mainman in his room tonight about my problems with iChat. I can't add any buddies cause of some shit about a feedbag error(anyone know how to fix that btw?) so i say: Im going to email apple, because I dont want to have to pay 30$ for a new version(because iChat AV now costs money, and I dont want to trash it and have to buy another one, just because of some shitty bug)
and what happens next? <Spike.aHa! was disconnected <pirate, banned> so now i have an iChat that doesnt worked, and im banned for gr for thirty mins, and I didnt deserve any of it. However, since I have never been banned you might wanna just send an email to GR, explaining what happens, I say this, b/c I don't know if GR keeps a record of past banning, and if in the future you get banned again for any reason, they or him (whomever) may base their desicion on previous offences and that's not warranted in this case.

If it was an autoban, it would have had to key off a word (like warez). I think pirate bans are done by admins, not bots.

The problem with keywords is that if someone says "warez is bad" they'll get banned. So yes, pirate bans are done by admins, meaning they read something that was either out of context, or in their opinion worthy of a ban. Title: Re:WTF! Auto banning is getting out of control.
