Title: Macintosh 2004
Post by: Mr. Lothario on January 25, 2004, 08:01:53 pm
I saw this on Slashdot and thought it was pretty damn spiffy. A "Macintosh 2004" case mod (http://www.primotechnology.com/articles/0104/mac2004.htm).

Weaksauce, it can't even run a Mac OS.

It would have been cool if they'd have used the cube components, now it's just lame.

I agree. Even so, better than it being junked.

I read something quite a long time ago that in Japan, they were squeezing iMac motherboards into the old ColorClassic cases.

Cool factor would have been way up if they had used the guts from a cube, I agree.  Especially since then thy could have just enlarged the floppy drive opening for the slot loading drive of the cube.

Okay,

A.  It is totally disrespectful to all 128k Macs that it doesn't run the Mac OS.

B.  Would have been really cool if they would have removed the original black and white display and replaced it with a small full-color LCD Flat Panal display.

C.  Using the Macintosh Cube for the hardware was a good idea.

D.  I actually have an original fully-working, like-new 128k Macintosh that my father bought new in 1984.....anybody want to make a PowerMac G4 out of it for me???
