Known issues that have been adressed for the 1.3 patch: No need to post about these.
>MP kit crash issues in sniper, rifleman, and demo kits
>Reticule issues for the socom and M4peq2
>LAW sizing and position issue
>Sound issues with AK47
>MP demo guys listed as support
>Once in a while the enemy element will kill Karzai before you can get on the ground, this is a random script so just retry if this happens.

Known issues that are probably related to individual hardware or game settings:
>Visibility problems on mission 3? This is not something really inherent in the mod, but must be adressed with the individual's settings on their machine. Nothing can be done from our end.

I think I found a bug in mission 2, but not certain. I tried the mission and accidentally killed 1 warlord, and then tried to complete it and the chopper never appeared. As soon as I got to extract my guys were riding nothing, like they sat down in midair and just looked left to right. If I do the mission without killing a warlord though, everything runs smooth (the chopper extract is soooo cool). Dunno if it's a bug, just letting you know.

Coco, not sure if its fixed or not, but originally when cobra, whisper and I were going through the mp bugs, the specialist (dont recall which one) that has the Wilson rifle assigned to him, the wilson comes up as m16. Not sure if you are aware of this. Ill keep looking

Mission 1 has issues at times, but I wouldn't really call it a bug.


The grenade explosion sound sometimes switches to the noise of a GL being launched, other times, it sounds like an AK47 sound. (after removing the m16/m206 files)

I also noticed that there are some weapons that do not show up in multiplayer. Not sure if that's on purpose.... The HK ump45SD shows in SP, but not MP. (maybe a team thing, I don't know)

Also, there is one demo kit in MP that will not toggle "take demo". I picked the demo kit, and then the mission will not launch because "demo charges required" I think it's the coltm635sd&demo kit.... Happens on mission 5. When I swap to another demo kit, it launches ok... (sidenote, the brief says demo recommended, not required)

And I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, but wasn't there an issue with using soaf maps before?

I have no vision problems on Mission 3.

Oh.. and the AT is carried on the forearm for some reason.. and they're HUGE.

hope this helps... looks like there was a LOT of work involved in this...

In my campaign, I am using an black soldier named T. Peedin (support class).  Someone put a WHITE soldier's blink face in the actor file though...

So I keep getting a white soldier's face flashing over his...looks like the exorcist!!!    :o

Also, the rifleman's weapon: Colt M4 AN/PEQ2 has no rets in game....

First of all: Great Work ! Love the Skins, the Music and the Missions.

But:

Mis2 & 3 doesnt end correctly, all Objectives done and nothing happens ?
Mis 4 crashes me after Landing to Desktop ?

Hello,
about the  {DTD} No Easy Day

Well after trying this mod in single player ( a little ) to mid of second mission.  I tryed to play in multiplayer and it TOTALY FAILS :( oOH not true 1st mission works if no more than 2 ppl there after  just crashes b4 it starts....

I don't think this is a bug, but I played the campaign without a single specialist appearing. Are there supposed to be specialists or am I a little out of the loop here?

Alphazero: The campaign does not activate any specialists, to keep it a little tougher. All missions in quick mission mode have the specialists activated, if you wish to use them in the missions. ;)

AsRock: Right now the cinamatic sequences are problematic in Multiplayer. They are causing those crashes. Not all missions have cinematics (mission 3 and 6 don't) and we're working on see if we can pull the cinemas from the MP missions without pulling them from the SP ones. f you want an MP fix in the meantime, all other GR missions now have new, tougher enemies with new skins and models.

sixpence: I haven't seen any of these errors with the missions not ending correctly...  Please make sure no other mods are active on the machine, as duplicates of actor of weapon files can cause this. I haven't had a CTD with any of the missions in single player. let me know if the problem persists.

Note: Some Radeon vid cards render problems in missions 3 and 6, nothing we can do from this side about that. I tested with Nvidia cards with no ill effects.

Everybody please make sure you're running the PC version ofr this support thread. If you're running the mac version, please contact Mauti in his forum since it's less running around for him.
Everybody also please make sure you've got the version 1.3 patch, and that you've got Desert Seige as well as Island Thunder installed. If you continue to have trouble come on back and post your problem?

With the mission 3 rendering issue, what kind of steps can one take to alleviate the issue.  I have a Radeon 9200 card, on a p4 w/ 768 megs of Ram, and 1.4ghz?  The missions are some of the coolest I've seen, and would love to finish the campaign completely...

     Hey, Great work on the mod guys!!!  It's impressive stuff.  I loved every bit of it.  But I'm suffering the same Radeon Card problem.  I'm not tech savy enough to figure out a solution, but if it's the same map I think it is from SOAF, then I'm confused.  It works when I play it on the SOAF mappack, but not when I'm playing your mod!  If you have any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear them.  But it's still a great mod, but I can't fully enjoy it since my laptop is crap.   ::)

I have a sound issue im using NED version 1.3. when using a DTD character such as Cobra6 the m203 in kit 24 sounds like a  gun shot. when using a regular rifleman its the same in kit 59 which appear to be the same kit.

Has anyone tried this mod in the original missions ? Ive had all kinds of strange things happening. Things like gernade explosions sounding like birds chirping and guns when fired in single shot mode chirping sniper, reticles that are not complete etc etc. The mod looks cool but its got some serious issues that shoulda been worked out before putting it out to the public. I havent even bothered with the mod missions becuase if it dont work in normal missions its not worth having to me.

Please fix this mod it has very nice potential.

Please make the guns more accurate im sick of guns that dont hit what i aim at.

One big thing that should be looked into. The reticles that have triangles and circle dots.... The triangle or dot should be in the center of the reticle pip so that when i put the triangle on the target i hit the target, it should not be under the reticle pip. In real life thats how it works... put the dot on your target you will hit your target... if you dont believe me look up the aimpoint site. Also could you put some more gun sounds in please it feels like all the guns sound alike.

I have latest updates, and drivers for all my hardware, Im running a p4 3.0, an audigy SC, and a ATI 128 pro graphics card.

(B) this statment is only half correct, when using red-dot optics your statement is true, However when using a triangle ret. in an optic such as an ACOG the tip of the triangle is the point of impact so the triangle is correctly placed.

Weapon balance is perfect, the only problem I am having is a minor one, some of the reticules have a center "dot" that does not exactly fit in with the closed pips, hrm, and the M4A2 Subdued for the rifleman has 40 rounds.

I play with my brother and nephew, and we have the mods, so I know its not a mod conflict. When we deactivate the DTD we are able to play. So it has to be that mod. I (we) did the same as you by taking out all mods except for DTD and kept haveing problems. Hoefuly they will find the problem......Also I tried playing multiplayer by myself and get kicked back to desktop.

I hear what your saying about fixing the guns myself to my specs and not going to argue about the reticles my only real main big problem with the mod is the frags chirping and some of the gun sounds chirp as well, i thought the frag prob was in the string file and i tried to fix it myself but it didnt work so if you could do that and maybe make a patch or something it would really be appreciated. Anything else i dont like you are correct i can fix the other things myself.

I also have a problem with NED 1.3 kicking me back to the desktop.  It happens just after I select my guys and try to start mission 1.  

Quickmission works fine and I have yet to try a multiplayer game.

I have GR version 1.4 and have Desert Siege and Island Thunder installed.

Please let me know whats wrong as I really want to play this mod.

Those of you who are having the CTD issues, please send me a copy of your IKE file in your GR folder. This file will describe the reasons for the CTD's. That can help us find an answer for you. I haven't had any CTD problems except for when starting mission 5 (limping jackal) in MP, because of the insertion intro sequence, but I'd like to see what you have going on.

As for the mod's performance in the normal missions, it should work perfectly and I have had no problems playing the standard missions whatsoever, or heard of anyone else having that problem. if you keep crashing, send me the IKE file with a description of the error you are having.

 I've got a mission set for MP in the works, which will be activated as a seperate mod and take priority over the full install. It's the same missions without the intro sequences which tend to make the crashes happen.

As for those of you with opinions on the weapons "feel" and rets, that's a personal preference issue, can't please everybody.

Well I for one am seriously diggin' this mod, however I can't make the jump to back to an nVidia card, has anyone fingered out the settings that need to be tweaked to resolve these visual issues on #3 and I guess #6 (can't get by 3, can't see)?

Just a short note to let you know that I enjoy your No Easy Day Mod.

I like a few others who have posted am having trouble with the graphics in mission 3.

I have a ATI 9700 Pro Video Card and am unable to play that mission at all.  Cannot even see my squad members in front of me.

Is there a way to turn off the night mission settings and play it in normal light?

Have tried adjusting the card settings with no luck.

Hey Nick,
as you can see, I posted the same question a few days back. Until someone can respond with the needed info. I loaded #3 and when the mission starts I hit the "enter" key on the numeric keypad which opens the text window above the game window and typed in "autowin", hit the regular "enter" key then hit "esc" to close the text window.

I know it's kind of a bummer to skip that mission, but until we figure how to adjust our cards/monitors it's a way to proceed with that particular mod.

From what I understand #6 has the same issue, I'll be skipping it also.

Like I said before, it sucks 'cause this mod is no joke, I'd rank it right up there with TG 3.0/Frostbiite and I'd really like to experience every mission.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know what my temporary work-around was.

Thanks for the info on mission three.

Would really like to play it but would rather skip past and experience the rest of the missions rather than being stuck where I am now.

If ATI wasn't one of the two major manufacurers of video cards I would understand there possibly being an occasional
problem but this just shouldn't happen.

Anyway, I guess what it all comes down to is we downloaded the mod for free so we don't have a lot of room to complain.

Discovered my problem. I must have downloaded a corrupt update twice or something. The \MP Actor Files\Platoon 1\mp_plt1_snip.atr was missing a .chr extension on the <ModelName>ica_us_sniper_cuba.chr</ModelName> line.

Hey. First of all, congratulations on this excellent mod. It's about time someone tackled this. It's obvious you guys spent a lot of time and effort on it. I'm impressed.

One of the few problems I've had is with the suicide bomber actor in the Al-Aqusa folder. I tried loading it to see what it looked like by copy/pasting the contents of the suicide0001.atr into one of the riflemen .atrs, but whenever it came up, Ghost Recon would crash to the desktop. I had no problem viewing any of the other skins (Iraqi, Taliban), but maybe there is something wrong with the suicide bomber's .atr or one of the .chr files?

Also, I really liked the new DELTA skins for the GR soldiers, but when I try playing the Desert Siege-based missions (like Triple Play), the skins look a lot different than the ones used for the default GR levels (like Stutter Step). Was this intentional, or am I doing something wrong?

And these are less bug reports as just constructive criticism... But why are there so few African-American and Asian-Americans in the mod? I'm not accusing you of racism, but it seems all the soldiers are white hairy guys. I mean, I've seen Black Hawk Down, and the majority of those guys were whitebread, and since you guys went off military photos, I guess you were being more realistic than anything...

Also, I messed around with the Warlord mission from Desert Siege, and replaced the Ethiopian warlord with the Cleric file in the Mideast_Guard folder... I was a little disappointed that it was just an old guy's head on the warlord's body. I guess I was expecting something more... bin Laden-ish. (I fixed it by just putting the Cleric's head on one of the Afghan Guards' bodies.)

By the way, if you guys ever need someone to write briefings for you guys (assuming you need help in future mods), I'm a pretty good writer. I've yet to try my hand at actually using IGOR to make missions, but I'd love to help you guys just to keep this wonderful mod going strong.

Anyway, keep up the good work! We GR fans really appreciate it!

Thanks! As for the suicide character (not used in the mod), it was originally used in the "pipe dream" mission, but was later switched for the Iraqi civil defence imposter characters. I just edited the mission's actor file to change the chr, so the original name was "suicide001", etc. So that would explain your crash when trying to plug in that skin.
The standard characters and specialists are different for each map type, which is why the plainclothes guys aren't on the desert maps. The maps in NED are coded to coincide with the correct skins, a'la the Karzai mission.

As for the racial makeup of the roster, I retextured faces from sum of all fears, etc, because they did not have the helmet straps (for standard GR maps), and most of thoe guys were caucasian, but there are a decent amount of hispanic and black faces in there, 30%or so. I had to mix it up some becaue I didn't use as many different faces as the default game. The desert and jungle rosters are well balanced, with perhaps less asian faces (harder to find without helmet straps), but no intentional favoritism took place.
I actually wrote all the briefings, and I enjoyed it quite a lot. The briefings are really what ties the missions together and creates the story, so I'm pretty particular about doing them myself.

one issue: sometimes grenades don't "explode,"  rather,  they sound like rifle shots :(
is there anyhting i can do to fix this?

To play the missions you need to Have Island Thunder due to the Blackhawk Model, I'm honestly not sure if you just download the core mod, if you have to have IT.

You can play the mod just fine with out the expansions, either one, but you can't play the NED missions unless you have all 3. (gr, ds, it)
All other missions in GR will work fine!

I don't know if the following classify as bugs but they certainly seem to be a problem in the game:

1. muzzle flash for the grey wolf sniper rifle at a 90? angle from the barrel line up + not at end of barrel but at stock

2. muzzle flash for the urban m4 (i think) inverted.

3. single shot sound for ak 47s, sr 47, shot gun (+ maybe some other weapon) accesses the grenade explosion wav file and not their relative wav files as visualised in the gun editor for IGOR.

4. mp5 k SD disappears when not being used by the soldier.

so far these are the problems i've seen in this otherwise excellent mod (best i've ever seen infact). There may be others similar to the ones i've mentioned. any chance of correcting these mishaps??

Hi peeps at DTD pro mod team,

as it's shown in the first post of this thread the list of bugs that are addressed to in the 1.3 patch all seem to occur on my computer even with the 1.4 patch installed. I still have grenades that sound like my gun, I still crash when cycling through the MP kits on both rifleman and demo. The position and size of the LAW are still incorrect. I haven't checked for the other bugs actively yet, but i'm sure they are there.

So my question is as follows: "Are these problems fixed yet, or did I do something wrong in the first place?"

I downloaded NED full 1.3 about a half year (?) ago (Too long back to remember exactly but 1.3 was just out) and installed it back after reinstalling my whole computer (WXP, ghost recon (and DS/IT)). I then got the patch for 1.4 from a friend. I joined the server hosting the game and got a CTD while picking a nice weapon to play with. None of the others have this problem. As long as I don't cycle the full list of the weapons I don't crash.

Then I decided to do some testing on the integrity of my hdd (and do a disk-defrag while i'm at it) but no errors where found and with half an hour my disk was defragmented. I uninstalled NED 1.4 (and offcourse 1.3) and reinstalled it again, but had a new download running from fileplanet for both 1.3 full and 1.4.

As you expect, the errors where still there. The following day (today) I find my download completed and decide to reinstall it. But to my dissapointment nothing has changed and I'm still bashing my head to the wall as we speak. I tried to find some more details on bugfixes, but found no documents on that with the mod itself (??? why not ???) and also checking these forums and other articles on your mod did not bring me any closer to a solution.

How come I'm the only one suffering these problems (clearly) while I'm doing everything by the book?

(BTW: I know u guys are not a helpdesk, believe me, I know what a helpdesk is but this is just beyond me...so any help is much appreciated)

NED 1.5 will correct the frag/ak sound bug, the MP CTD's that were actually caused intermittently by the actor names in he MP files, now you will see your own name in the MP box. I have tested all the kit restrictons and no CTD's when selecting any weapon with 1.5 installed. There are a couple other small things that were updated, but nothing that affects gameplay. Aside from a few muzzle flash issues which can't be correctd without remodelling some models (original max files are not around anymore)
I also added the M1911 to the pistols only kitrestriction, and updated the m1911 texture.I am hoping that this patch will make NED bug free.

Remember, NED missions are SP only. All others should work ok. I have been LAN testing the mod this weekend and will test for several more days, then the 1.5 patch will be released. Hang on till then and you should be ok.

The downloads page will be simplified, I actually have already redone it and just am waiting to upload it. There will be the 2 file 1.3  installer,  and the 1.5 patch. I may also add the 1.5 full install as a single file, I probably will.

Besides those, the only other available download for NED will be the Woodland Variation stand alone mod. So a lot less to look at as far as the confusion factor.

Hey dOOds,

I corrected the problem by downloading the full 1.2 (didn't even know it still existed) version and then applying patch 1.3 and 1.4. Sure there maybe some bugs still in it, but the most annoying, like a CTD when choosing your weapons ;) , are gone. Guess in my case (maybe in everyone's case) full install of 1.3 and then 1.4 doesn't solve the bugs mentioned being solved in version 1.3.

Oh well, I'm just happy to be playing this mod now with the guys at Ghostaholic.com (El nino clan) who claimed this mod to be their Mod of the Month! I can't blame 'm, because of the excellent characters, skins and weaps.

I found a problem causing sniper Carlo Newport to crash DS maps.  There's a mistake in the XML for the face model in:

I have to say first off, NED has a great feeling to it. I really like the reticles and hard sites. Of course the skins are cool. The music and the menu screens really do a great job of setting the mood.

By any chance are these missions coop multiplayer as well?


I think I have run across some problems/bugs:

- Frags and GLs make gun shot sounds on explosion. (I don't recall which kits exactly)

- Mission 3:  I can't see anything except for some outlines of buildings or something.

- Mission 2: The warlords never show up for their meeting? I even placed the bugging device in the shack (without being seen or killing anyone ) and still no meeting. Once and only once did the trucks make an appearance, but then one drove right into the side of the hill just west of the US SF spotters. The other truck just vanshished or something. I waited in recon mode for over 20 minutes, waiting for the truck(s) with the warlords.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

No MP support for the missions, the Blackhawk written into them aren't supported, and the bug with Mission 3 is an ATI video card thing, no fix available.

I believe the sound issues for the GL & Frags with be fixed in the forthcoming patch. Coco is working on that, in his limited spare time[/u] he's doing his best to get that finished.

Not sure about the Warlord part, maybe it's been posted in this thread before? There is also an older thread with some mission Walkthroughs (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=5336)
