Title: Create your own Americas Army server! Post by: MainMaN on November 23, 2003, 09:17:42 am Heya, got a email on how to make it. So see if you guys can figure it out. Typhy got it to work so bugg him if you get stumped.
Only bad thing is.... hard to set up..... lag? depending on ur speed Navigate to the System dir of America's Army Make a copy of Default.ini and rename the copy to hoho.ini Open hoho.ini and make the following changes: Find localmap=Entry.aao and change it to localmap=Pipeline.aao (there are a variety of options, look in the map dir for more maps) Find the line that says ServerActors=UTelnet.TelnetServer and comment it out (add a ; before the line) Create a batch file in the System directory with the following line: armyops.exe -server ini=hoho.ini Run the batch file. Now, this will create a dedicated server which people can (and will, holy fuck it fills up fast) join. You can further tweak the hoho.ini file to add modify a variety of settings like maxplayers, listings, etc. To connect to servers people host, pull down the console and type 'open ' Hopes this helps! Bridge.aao Bridge_SE.aao FLS.aao HQ_Raid.aao Insurgent_Camp.aao JRTC_Farm.aao Mountain_Pass.aao Mountain_Pass_SE.aao MOUNT_McKenna.aao Pipeline.aao Radio_Tower.aao River_Basin.aao Swamp Raid.aao Tunnel.aao Weapons_Cache.aao Weapons_Cache_SE.aao I'll try your suggestion, MM, after I'm done getting ?ber pissed off at my computer. ( It's like it refuses to use all my uspeed on the server ). Title: Re:Create your own Americas Army server! Post by: Jeb on November 23, 2003, 10:54:42 am i have a program that does the same thing, only without the hassle of editing that stuff.

If so, he forgot one quite simple thing; to remove the authorization setup. You'll get "failed authorization - this is not an authorized server" if you try to use it. Or has he released an update? If so, hook me up. Title: Re:Create your own Americas Army server! Post by: BFG on November 23, 2003, 08:23:36 pm Oh my that sounds awsome...
