Post by: Night Hawk on August 07, 2002, 05:48:31 pm OMG, i went to yodays game and ig to 1187 ping, thats first problem, second, i cant host, it quits on me, and third ties in with first, EVERYOEN gets 600 pings off my host. but 1187, omg. what should i do, reinstall rs, replace preeffrences, i have a G4 so i dont understand.

usualy its the service, they might be fixing things or something. basicaly wait it out, it should get better, if it doesn't call your isp and wait on hold for a couple hours. Title: Re: 1000 PINGS! Post by: Typhy on August 08, 2002, 02:26:24 am It's a simple problem with your connection, first off, perhaps another user within your house was using it to download somthing, that will greatly slow things, when my brother is downloading things, or even worse, uploading, I used to get 2,000+ Pings. If the problem continues, then it's your ISP, and Jeb is right, you either have to wait it out, or wait on hold.

it could be a prob with latency... but remember latency and bandwith are 2 different things. even if you Dl at 70k a sec you could get terrible pings Title: Re: 1000 PINGS! If that doesn't work, a good DHCP renew sometimes does the job.

When the lag got bad i asked the europeans to leave, then more americans came and it didn't lag anymore. My host isnt bad, except when i get 8 europeans on 56ks. I never have bad ping during the night though 69 and such, But the airport i have splits the conection in 4 ways. I don't know if this is the problem or not (why you get bad pings from my game.)
