Title: Converting IT soundfiles to AIFF--Which App best? Post by: STuRM on June 10, 2003, 10:51:06 am I ttie to convert my Island Thunder soundfiles into AIFF format improve my framerate, but when I tested the game I couldn't hear my Socom firing. I reinstalled IT and would like to know if anyone has converted the songfiles properly, and which audio conversion app you used. Thank you,

Well sounds are hearable. SOCOM is louder than the silent snipergun but I also experienced in a very private conversion that the sounds are extremely silent until I used the settings below. The aif sound conversion settings I use: Fileformat: AIFF Encoding: PCM Samplingrate: 22050 Channels: No change Bit depth: 16bit Bye, Mauti Title: Re:Converting IT soundfiles to AIFF--Which App best? Bye, Mauti Title: Re:Converting IT soundfiles to AIFF--Which App best? Post by: Mr. Lothario on June 11, 2003, 11:17:14 am I used a nice little app called SoundConverter. You can get it from VersionTracker.com. It's a tiny OS X program which allows drag-and-drop converting of lots of sound files at once. I just dragged the IT sounds onto it (don't drag the effects.xml file as well, it'll choke the program and abort the conversion) set to convert to AIFF with the default settings for the program. A few moments later, it was done, and the sounds worked fine.
