When threads like that are so rare, you have to let them flourish. Don't lock it just because you feel like it. I know now I'm gonna take some heat for starting a thread complaining about an admin locking a thread, and I know admins like to quietly say "We have our reasons when something is locked."
But how often are you going to see an argument as good as that one? There was no flaming, no spamming, just good ol' fashioned debating.
