this is pretty old news jeb. The PC version was playable at E3 and the game for mac has been on www.macsoftgames.com and the westlake project page for about 5 months now.

Blimey guys... Halo has been in development for years and years and years... The first public annocment of it was made at an Apple Expo... and of course the plan was for a mac game!
Bungie have allways stated that they would aim for Halo to be brought to the mac...
Lets just hope westlake do a good job, there isn't much longer to wait!

i really miss bungie... we really need at least one quality company that makes popular games for the macintosh over the peecee if we want to present an image as a viable alternative to gamers.

Tell me about it. One of the very very rare companies that actually produced top quality goods for the mac... So i suppose it was predictable that microsoft would buy them out. Not that they didn't also buy about 4 or 5 other Game developers at the same time as bungie... Just one big push to try and find someone who could produce decent games for their 'shite box'.

Blasphemy!  Maniac, considering this was the game many people bought an XBox for, Halo does matter.

MS owns most, if not all of the game studios that develop their games. Typicaly the games are acually good quality for a product with a microsoft name on it. Look at dungeon siege. MS simply bastardizes the process by deciding which games go where. They put to much faith in the xbox, which is a nice big failure.

I don't think the Xbox is that much of a failure.  The sales weren't bad and it seems to be a pretty nice system.  Let's see what happens when Halo 2 is released next spring.

the gamecube is even dominating xbox sales, besides they cut the size of the xbox program down considerably (i test there sometimes). Sure the system is great, especialy the chipped linux xboxes, and they are a good value for all the stuff you get, however they lack developer commitment.
