Title: NBA Playoffs
Post by: Typhy on May 07, 2003, 07:36:31 am
 Post your picks! :)

My first round picks came out pretty well:

Magic in 6. :( :(

Nets in 5. :)

Celtics in 6. :) :)

Sixers in 5. :)

And of course, in the West:

Spurs in 4. :)

Kings in 4. :)

Portland in 4. . . ( I really ate it on this one ). :(

And, of course, my prediction from my heart, T-Wolves in 7. :(

My second round picks:

Spurs in 7.

Kings in 5.

Sixers in 7.

Celtics in 5. . . I have a bad feeling about this one already.

In the Western conference, I think the Kings will take out the Mavs and that the Lakers will take out the Spurs, with the Lakers getting to the finals again. Eastern conference will have the Nets take out the Celtics easily, and the Sixers eventually take out the Pistons in a hard fought battle. I think the NBA finals will be a Sixers-Lakers matchup, and I think the Sixers will win with Iverson averaging over 40 a game.

your obviously retarded because 2 years ago when the sixers and lakers met AI didn't even come close to averaging 40 and they lost 4-1

and typhy ? what the hell is wrong with you picking the celtics over the nets. Everybody (who has a good sense of basketball) knows the nets are coming out of the east and the kings are coming out of the west.

Lakers ? They wouldn't have made it to the finals last year if horry didn't make that miracle 3-pointer at the buzzer. Lakers won last year because of a fluck. Don't expect that to happen this year.

There is no one in the East who can take whoever comes out of the West more than 6 games.

While I agree that things Kings are coming out of the West, I'm keeping the Celtics as my pick in the East.

I'll take Paul Pierce over Jason Kidd anyday.

CELTICS ALL THE WAY

Btw...if this year was in the 60s 70s or 80s, you'd be cheering for the celtics because they raped almost every team.

reality check.....

this isn't the 60's
this isn't the 70's
this isn't the 80's

This is the 21 century.... a time when boston is based around 3 pointers and 2 people, paul peirce and antione walker. They aren't consistant players, and paul peirce is too much of a ball hog to be a true great player.

and to typhy.... I would pick paul peirce over jason kidd any day too... due to the fact they play totally different positions. Jason kidd's job is to deliver the ball and make good plays, and peirce's job is to score. I think Kidd does a better job creating plays then peirce does scoring. But that's just my perspective. 1 on 1, peirce would own Jay Kidd, but Kidd definatley makes the nets better compared to how peicre makes the celtics better.

Ultimo, I was just giving a history lesson...no reason to get offensive...this is just an opinion-based thread.

but since I'm from Boston, I want the Celtics to cream the Nets, however I understand you're from the Big Apple so possibly you'd want the Nets to defeat the Celtics.

Only the game will tell...

Lakers over the Spurs in 6 (yeah, even with the injuries)

Kings over Mavericks in 5 (Dallas blows, what else is there to say)

Nets over the Celtics in 7 (Pierce will continue to torch teh Nets, but will lose the series because Atoine Walker is a bum)

Sixers over Pistons in 7 (Pistons would have won had Chauncey Billups not been injured)

Conference finals:

Lakers over Kings in 7 (Kings are mental pussies)

Sixers over Nets in 6 (Jason Kidd's final game as a Net)

Finals:

Lakers over Sixers in 5 (First team since Celtics to win 4 in a row)

My guesses are..

Spurs over Lakers in 5 (lakers play like a college team when shaq and kobe get tired)

Kings over Mavs in 6 (last night showed the mavs can shoot the ball well and stay in the series based on there shooting accuracy)

Nets over Celtics in 5 (I love the celtics, they are too big of choke artists to be true competition)

Pistons over sixers in 6 (AI will miss more free throws in clutch moments like a bum and they will lose)

Western Finals:

Kings over Spurs in 7 (great match up, should go down to the last second to see who wins)

Eastern Finals:

Nets over Pistons in 6 (Pistons can't mess with jay kidd's assists and how fast the nets play ball)

Finals:

Kings over Nets in 6 (Although some games will be close, others won't. This year is the year of sacremento, and they deserve to win. Last year they got a fluke which made them not win(horry's buzzer 3 pointer). Although I want the nets to win they just dont have enough dominant players to win it all)

Ultimo last year it was a great series and L.A. came out on top because they played better. Sac last year in that game missed over 3/4 of there freethrows and it was a good shot :)

Lakers will win for a 4th time :)
