Title: Ghost Recon Rant Post by: |DS|Death Angel on April 13, 2003, 08:00:25 pm ::) I like to take a monent to bitch about some people who play ghost recon on a regular basis and always manage to TK their own teammates or never ready up to start a game. I am fully aware that it's only a game but my god what the fuck is wrong with these people. I mean the name shows up plain as day if its a friendly or if they would only check their map once in a while these things would'nt happen. All I'm saying is CHECK YOUR FUCKING MAPS PEOPLE because I swear to god if you tk me one more time I'm gonna hunt you down you noob.
Also click the damn ready button for christ's sake or when I host I'll ban every one of you. Thank You For Your Time :D |DS|Death Angel Please send any hate mail to oracle00@macunlimited.net Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Jeb on April 13, 2003, 10:08:58 pm I'm usualy more scared about my own noob teammates tking me than i am about the other team. Even the good players tk sometimes, lastnight bucc tked me while i was taking a base on seige simply because i flanked and was running at their base from the backside. . For me at least, 1 death out of 6 are from friendly fire, and it pisses me off.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Ace on April 13, 2003, 10:17:20 pm I get tk'd a bunch. I'm sure a lot of it is because I am often flanking and my teammates confuse me for the enemy, but show some fucking awareness. I mean, I know I tk every once in a while; everyone does. However, some idiots just don't take that extra second to look at their map and say "Hmmm, I see a teammate's dot on that ridge, maybe I should watch my fire if I see a guy on the ridge."
Of course, if it ever gets too bad, come to my server where we happily boot repeat TK'ers. Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Mr.Mellow on April 13, 2003, 11:43:08 pm Same thing happens to me all the time. Since I'm a fast moving player, I'm usually way ahead of the pack. 90% of the time in Siege, I'm just about ready to take the enemy base in the first 45 seconds or so, and then some brain surgeon uses his grenade launcher and blows me up, or just shoots me. Now I just mostly play with other AgT fellas, cuz they don't tk. Best thing to do is find a game that has a lot of names you recognize.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Ross Koepke on April 14, 2003, 12:05:43 am Hmm maybe a mod that simulates next-gen fighting equipment is nescassary for these crazy urban noob tkers. Something that makes friendly guys glow and flash red, green and yellow seems like it would stop tks.[/size]

What if you made a mod where every time you put your ret over a teammate, and you click your mouse... GHOST RECON FORCE QUITS! Training and discipline at its best. Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Saberian 3000 on April 16, 2003, 03:21:55 am I hear ya death Angel. I feel the pain when some newb comes on you're team and tk's you like a bitch. there is nothing more depressing, especially when you get to a good position in the thick of a battle so far from you're spawn point only to be tk'ed by a dumbass newb. The worst part of this post is that most of the newb players dont know, or read these posts. Mainly just the vet's of battle league know about it. So sad to say we are talking about a point that basically every reader can relate to but already is aware of.
I wish there was a way of letting the newb's know about this. Just look at the people that posted a reply. They all are aware of the game problems. So Death Angel now all we need to do is let the newb's know you're frustration. Then we might start solving the problem. Now for Ace's comment, yes there are times that the vet players tk on accident, yes it does happen. The main reason is cause someone who plays with names on one server, then goes over to another that isnt using names, the first tk you make you usually realise the hard way. let's face it, no one really checks or knows if the server is using names on a regular basis. So sometimes we expect the name to hover above the person, and when it isnt there, BAM!, instant tk. I know I have done it on accident, and others have as well. Another time might be when some newb steps right i,n front of ya when you are laying suppressing fire down for you're team. Gotta love that one hehe. Either way it happens. My biggest concern is the revenge tk. I can understand that people are pissed when they get accidentally tked. I admit it pisses me off too. But to revenge tk is worse then an accidental tk. It just shows that you cant hold you're anger down and creates more havok when you guys start throwing tk's at each other. Revenge tking is the dumbest thing you can do. It creates more problems by taking an accidental incident and turning it into a losing confrontation for everyone else on the team of the Revenge tker. This is the issue that should be addressed on this forum cause 90 percent of the time the revenge Tker is the more experienced player that got tked on accident by a newb. The only time a tk back on a person should be performed is when someone is out to ruin the game and try and tk as many people as possible before he goes down. Then most of the team will say kill him, by then you are pretty assured that it is ok to tk this one member. But it should not go any farther. Anyway , sorry death Angel for the long message. I just thought that was prudent to say in this situation of tk's. +MOD+Saberian.CBl Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: Cossack on April 16, 2003, 04:37:07 am HAHA deathangel, I typed the exact same thing a while back, almost verbatem.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Rant Post by: c|"Sixhits" on April 17, 2003, 09:16:54 pm The most interesting aspect of Jebs note is that whole 1 in 6 comment. You know what, look at the invasion of Iraq and the causulty list. Roughly similar ratio of ff vs ef fire kills for us yanks. And for the Limeys? poor sods took it on the chin from us.
