G'Day. This is directed to the grafx and design freaks within this community.

How about a "DAMN Battle League Season Winner Logo Design Competition"? In my eyes a win on the BL is good, but when you can show it with some impressing logo on your clan site, it is much better...

I can do it by my own as Im a grafx pro, but I would give the space to a real cool logo (with a professional design) on our  www.virus-clan.org.

If Mauti accepts, this could become the official DAMN Season Award Logo that all winners receive from season to season.

After all designs are send in (maybe posted here as links) up to a specific deadline we could make a poll and let the people decide.

How do you like the idea?

Yes. Thx for the contribution. A proper Briefing would be:

"Design an impressing Logo for the DAMN BL Season Winner. The Logo will be given to any winner of the DAMN BL Season and the specific clan can post it at a place on their clan site. The following must be incorporated into the design:
 

• The *DAMN Logo
• The text line "Battle League" (in conjunction with the *DAMN Logo)
• The text line "Proud Winner of Ghost Recon Season x"
• The date (maybe month and year)

Make 2 versions of the logo: A full color version and a version with a single color fill only. The *DAMN Logo is not allowed to be altered in any way except using a single color fill. Any layout is possible. The award logo must have a destinctive look but must be able to be incorporated in any existing clan site design.  The design must be clear and simple so it is easily recognizable even in small size."

Mauti shall correct me if i wrote something he doesnt accept. I await his comments anyway before anything gets started.

Very nice idea Hartman. I'll get back to this as soon as possible but currently I have to clear some issues with Ubisoft and I am busy at university.

Btw I could offer all *DAMN logos as photoshop data to make it easier to use them.

According to my job experience i would say 2 days up to one week from application to deadline is normal... hehe ;)

Yes. Thx for the ideas. This was talked about before.  I added a couple of changes.  A proper Briefing would be:

"Design an impressing Logo for the DAMN BL Top Finishers of the Battle League for each Category. The Logo will be given to the top 2/3 finishers of the DAMN BL Season in RS and GHR and the specific clan can post it at a place on their clan site. The following must be incorporated into the design:
 

• The *DAMN Logo
• The text line "Battle League" (in conjunction with the *DAMN Logo)
• The text line "Proud Winner/2nd Place Finisher of Ghost Recon/Rogue Spear Season x"
• The date (maybe month and year)

Make 2 versions of the logo: A full color version and a version with a single color fill only. The *DAMN Logo is not allowed to be altered in any way except using a single color fill. Also, the clan's logo is required somewhere on there.  Any layout is possible. I think the briefing is more complete in adding Rogue Spear (whats that? a game?) but it differs from my vision i had. Please do not incorporate the clans logo (that would mean customisation every time and i wanted a *DAMN logo standard) and to make a logo for second and third place is up to discussion, to my opinion. I would say "1st only", but I can imagine 2nd and 3rd logos too. Like having Gold, Silver, Bronze, for example (but thats too ordinary, think different, ladies) ;)

I think there should be 2nd and third place ones too they earned their spots too.

I would say only for the winners for each ladder.

The graphic should contain the BL season without dates. Also no clan logos. Maybe do a different one for each ladder so you recognize the ladder without text or make one graphic for all ladders and add a text so you know which ladder...

Start: from now on until thursday next week so I can add it before the 4th season starts.

That's what was planned before, and that's what you should still go with!  

I agree with HartMann on the Gold Silver and Bronze or something to that effect.  

(Otherwise your Hall of trophies would have hardly any content :o )

• The text line "Proud Winner of <Game> Season <Number>" or alternatively "1st Place Season <Number>"

Make 2 variants of the DAMN BL Winner Logo: A Rogue Spear variant and a Ghost Recon variant. Also, make 2 versions of the logo: A full color version and a version with a single color fill only. The *DAMN Logo is not allowed to be altered in any way except using a single color fill. Any layout is possible. The award logo must have a destinctive look but must be able to be incorporated in any existing clan site design.? The design must be clear and simple so it is easily recognizable even in small size. Ask Mauti to send you the *DAMN Logo. Time span for the competition is one week from today on. After the deadline has passed, a vote takes place".

 I disagree with putting first, second, and third in.

MP5 was only a few points back of getting third this season, and let's face it, we were good, but our achievments this season shouldn't put us in the Hall of Fame. In my opinion, it should go to the number 1 clan on each ladder, if you want it enough, you'll get it.

can it be animated or is this icon to be used on gameranger also?

 I disagree. It's not hard to get into the top 3 ( ok, a bit hard this season ), to get into the top 3, you have to have skill, but you can just endlessly eliminate newbies. To win, you do have to beat some top clans, like FiRE did in the finals.

I bet next season, ( if I wanted ), I could get a top 3 spot using a Single Shot SD5, no kits, and no pistol.  

Voodoo no I don't think animations are a good idea but if they are done fantastic why not. The only problem is that it is more difficult to edit them so I would say go with a graphic.

Rapid and all others I don't think I mentioned the hall of fame here, did I!? This whole thing has currently nothing to do with the Hall of Fame. The project HoF is currently dead I have other worries for season 4. Such graphics would be for the clans website and at the moment it will be probably added to the claninfo.

Animations are not good for incorporating into an existing clan site.

I dont understand Rapid's fears here, this really has nothing to do with a HoF on the DAMN site. Mauti is right and I mentioned it in the first briefing version: The logo will only be posted on the clan site. And maybe - as Mauti said - with the clan info on the DAMN site to see who your opponent is and what the challenges are... 2nd and 3rd can be mentioned with a text.

Mauti, are you gonna post the icons somewhere so that we can vote on the best one, and also, if we could see them it may help others to see an example of work.

That's the point  Voodoo I'll show all pics after the deadline because I don't want rip offs. Be creative - think different.

 I'll post all suggestions after thursday(deadline) then we will vote.

Can we sport a 2nd place one for last season? Will there be logos for past BLs for display on clan sites?

Please focus on the future. Dont mix all possibilities into something. The rules are clear now and you dont do it any good with constantly bringing new aspect into this simple competition.   :(

If getting in the Hall of Fame was based on how hard people fight... then every clan would get in. Only the most dominate clans should get in... period. (Yes that means I feel that ?K should not be inlisted)

 For starters, I would like to say that I speak as someone who would love to see AK not get into the Hall of Fame. After MP5 wins the battle league next season, and gets put in the Hall of Fame, and AK doesn't, it would prove my point that booting me from AK was a mistake.

However, I think it's only fair that AK is put in the Hall of Fame, for one quite simple reason: They won a battle league. That's a fact that no one here can argue with, and if winning a battle league doesn't get you in, then could someone please tell me what the hell does?

Ummmm, this is NOT a Hall of Fame Design Competition. If you want Mauti to open a HoF with 1st, 2nd, 3rd rows on the DAMN site, put a post on this forum that concerns with that.

This Competition is in the first way targeted for design skills (beside computer gaming skills) and in the second way to bring clans who won a league a trophy to post on their site.

Anyway... time is up i guess... one week is over and im really excited if any of you made a design (i've been told that 70% call themselves "designers" and "grafx specialists") Okay let's see if any one has send in something... ;D

Unfortunately I can't call myself a "designer" or a "grafx specialist" cause I am not.
I am a photographer. But it's soooo boring to take pictures from naked woman all day long,  so I decided to "design" a BattleLeague Trophy. Hope you guys like it.
I am very curious what the other designs look like. Please show us Mauti!

Hartmann if you also created a logo please mail it me! All others you have time until tomorrow night to send me your league winner logos.

I am scared to send mine. I am by far a graphic's designer, but I will still send it in to Mauti later tonght so that you guys can point and poke fun of it later.  ;). I know that my design can be so much better, but like i said I am not a designer.

I made one for ghost recon.

BUT WHAT THE FUCK IS A "SINGLE COLOR FILL" AND WHO'S IDEA WAS IT TO COMPLICATE IT THAT WAY!? ???

Hmm.... I hope Dutch isn't the only one that has sent one in. Because if you compare ANYTHING on the Virus site to my crappy work, it's not gonna be much of a competition. I'm only gonna send it in if a few other people do it too.

I will do my version if you Mauti can give me 2 days, I had the idea for the competition because i dont have any time... but okay, I will go by example...

BTW: A "single color fill" is your logo design by just one color. Sometimes you cannot integrate a logo into a design with its full color version. To avoid people to make their own version of your logo you give them different versions of your logo which they can/must use, so you be sure that they dont make crap of your design. This is called "corporate identity" or "corporate design" guidelines... okay , but it might be a demand too high for this competition... ;)

Sure Hartmann so far I have received 3 different logos from Dutch, Voodoo and Snipe.
