Title: While GR is down.... Post by: Grifter on April 06, 2002, 09:54:26 pm Well... looks like GR went down, and went down hard today. ?I hope this isn't another multi-day (or multi-week) outage.
But, in case it is, we can still organize some IP games. ? Two ways I can think of. 1) MaG ( http://www.magleague.com to download the app) or 2) Hotline / KDX. ?( http://www.haxial.com/download/ for KDX client software. Make sure to grab the KDX client). ?I have a KDX server up and running all the time. ?Anyone is welcome to meet there to set up games. ?It has public and private chat. ?My KDX server address is xrup.com, guest access is open, so no login or password needed. ?Sorry, no warez for you to download. Either option means someone has to host, give their address and have other's IP join. ?But it's easier to do it in realtime chat then in a forum. Let's hope this is a stupid, non-needed post. As someone said (I forgot the name as I was scanning the posts) GR.com isn't down, so that means the server(s) is/are up but aren't/isn't excepting connections, except for the certain few who have been picked for testing it.

Since it's been 11 months since the press release about GameRanger X. And yes, the connection wasn't timing out... it was refused. And I wouldn't put it past Evill to not tell anyone or post an announcement that he was taking it down, because I've never seen him do it so far. On the other hand... being in the profession, we do other things to test... like have a duplicate server set up on a different IP... or a different domain on the same IP (but using a different port)... doubt he could do it with just different managed servers... but I babble.
