*DAMN R6 Forum

As most of you know, I live in Juneau Alaska, We're used to getting a lot of rain. We just have set a record for our city. It's only rained 3 times in the last month and a half. Because of this we're on a very high forest fire alert. Also. We're used to the ground being wet so there is no way that it will catch. Anyways, I was out with about 5 of my friends playing soccer, Biking and playin' baseball. We went down to the beach to make a fire to cook some hotdogs. We made it right by the edge of the  woods so that it would block the wind to make it easier to start, Being from here my whole life, I am used to the ground not being able to catch, That is why we left the fire unattended for 5 minutes while we went to get some watter. When we came back, not only was out fire giant, but the tree right next to it was in flames also.  Let's just say, for the next 5 minutes every word that any of us said had either: "Fuck" or "Shit" Or a combination of both of those.  Had we not paniced we proably could have gotten it out without striping off our shirts and hitting it with them while the others threw sand on it. After about 10 minutes we were all burnt, 2 of our sweatshirts were burned to a crisp and we were attempting to climb the tree which was mostly burnt out to get the last of it.  Basically, We got really lucky for sevral reasons.

1.) We wern't seen.

2.) We were able to get it out before it spread.

3.) Our parents didn't find out.

Basically, I will now never start a fire near trees, Grass when it is dry out again.

Basically, We really don't want the main headline in the newspapper to be:  "Six teenage boys totally screwed, no girls involved".

However, I am alive to live another day,  that is... 'til my brother sees what I did to his sweatshirt.

a minimum 10 foot radius of non burnable material around the fire
or better yet, DONT PLAY WITH MATCHES
nevertheless it did give me a good laugh, and at least i didnt hear about it on the evening news

Here in Alaska thats diffrent, Considering that the ground and trees are always way to wet to catch at all there is no reason to.

When I see Typhy saying that he yells at tourists and hates them for coming to see the land he lives on, I will tell him him to grow the fuck up too. Well. It was one that he really liked... And somtimes he gets this thing where you can't get him to be reasonable unless you give him large sums of money. Thats why I once had to pay him $35 to use in internet for 30 minutes. I didn't want him on it upstairs because I had a cb going and I wanted to by pass the router.

While I think that the tourismn industry is good for out state, I do find some of the things that tourists say very offensive :)
Example:
Last summer I was in down town Juneau, Where all of the tourists come off of the boats that they come into town on, One of them saw me biking in shorts and a tee shirt when it was like 40? out and they asked me if I lived here, I said "Yes" and they said in Response "How can you stand living here it's such an Ugly town". I am like "Where do you live" The respond with saying "LA" I just laughed.

Yes, Casper, Tourists can be annoying however they're what really keeps out states econemey going.
