Title: mac roger wilco?
Post by: Captain Snorp on March 11, 2003, 10:48:13 pm
Anyone know if this works for macs or not?  I'm not having any luck with it.

And if it doesn't work, know of a similar program that does? ;)

It worked for me playing R6 with Mauti once a long long time ago.  That was fun. . .I don't know if it still works but I wouldn't see why not.

For MacOS9 RogerWilco does its job fine for MacOSX I suggest to use Netphone which works great with Ghost Recon.

May be you have to enable the ports for it, when you are using a router or a firewall...
i got problems with the ports...
but you can solve them easily...

Yeah, I have the PC version working (using the same port forwarding).. but the Mac version refuses to want to connect.  Only slightly annoying having to use the PC keyboard to transmit, oh well.

Good to hear that it actually works for some of you, I'm going to keep fiddling with it.

If you have a router, you can still connect to other users regardless of settings. Or you can change some router settings and allow other users to connect to you.

You can choose to transmit only when a key is held down, or transmit continuosly.  You will find this option in the settings.

Yeah, I can't even get it to allow me to test the microphone on the mac, and it won't connect to PC hosts (even though the PC next to me will, using identical port information.)

I seem to recall that the Mac version of Roger Wilco is not compatible with the PC version. Development on the Mac version stopped a long time ago.

Netfone works great in 10.2.4 for GhR, including crossplatform, but I needed to open port 10200 on my Cisco 675 router (use shareware, Z Term).  Roger Wilco NEVER worked properly.

Note that I always host; I haven't tried to connect to someone else.
