I'd like to ask the moderators to either delete any post not along those lines, or if it is a comment or suggestion, move it to the test this idea thread.

I'll volunteer for any administrative type functions you may need or act as an adviser on rules and such if you need me.

    I certainly wish to participate. Consider me volunteered to play, and I would captain a team if it is required.

first of all, a thank you out to yoda for doing my work for me ;)

second of all, 10 teams of three would be great, but i think for the test we could also do 5 teams of 4(unless more people sign up)

i'll let this thread run till monday, then i'll make teams, but if you join after that, dont worry i'll still fit you in.

and finally out to flame
fire in bursts, run and shoot, reload often(but not too often),and PLAY NOW. The more practice you get the better.

Just a little piece of advice, I really don't think that 3 or 4 people per team will work to well, if you're going to do this, you'd better make sure that everyone involved will be very active, it's hard enough to get 4 guys on for a clan battle out of 12, I think that 4 out of 4 would be very dificult. Just my thoughts.

4 players on a team but the CBs can still be 2v2 and 3v3 so there will be extra players in order to help with scheduling and letting there be subs.  We will be having a rule to make sure all the players on a team get a chance to play a few CBs.

I guess that I'm not the best person to comment on this issue sence I am negitive twards it and think that it will never work, I will stay out of it from now on.

Brain, who will be keeping track of the ladder?  Will it be run with the same points system as the DAMN ladder?  Also do you think I could talk to you about the teams on GR.  Come on tomarrow and I would like to discuss some ideas I have and to see if while being in this trial league that I understand everything.

    Bondo is kindly willing to administrate the IRSL, and I for one am glad of it. : ) He's got a system figured out whereby there will be no points. Rather, each team will play every other team. That allows the winner of the league to be determined simply by their record.

    BTW, drafts will take place midway through August in order to let the teams practice and do preseason trading and scrimmaging. So get signed up sooner rather than later. : )

    Also BTW, please whore the IRSL to everybody you know. The more people we have, the better it'll be, and we are trying to reach a minimum of 30 players.

i was planning on doing  the rankings by record, and if there is a tie, the tie breaker would be games won and then we have the 2 tied teams play

Anyway, about the draft, this is how I see it happening.  We will choose captains (6-8 teams probably) and they will choose their teammates during the draft.

To start off on selecting captains, please contact me on GR or through the fourms to tell me you want to be elgible to be a team captain, at least then we can narrow the field to just those that want it.

Since Typhy is so sure this won't work, I have nothing to lose by joining...the sooner we get every1, the sooner we can end this

I don't want to be a captain, I atleast know that.  I haven't really been lead in a clan before and this would be fun to be drafted or atleast just put with some other people that I don't know.  Brain I think it would be a good idea if you don't put anyone in the same clan together in this.  People should get to be  together that don't really know each other or haven't played together before.

It might be good to go ahead and choose the captains now. I can run a randomizing program through the list to choose them, if you want.

I would prefer the captains not to be choosen randomly.

Its your choice. Just offering any help i can.By the way Mattster wants to join for the game that brings it to 25.

Thats 33. Thats a good # because then 11 teams goes in evenly. We could wither stop the sign up or hope for 36. the more the better, But if there is 35 people then the best we can do is 7 teams of 5 (or vice versa) with 34 we could get 17 teams of 2 but that would really defeat the purpose of this as it would be easy to get the best people on the same team. So, what do we do, its up to Bondo and Brain 8)

Teams will be no smaller than 4 and there will be no more than 10 teams.  Hopefully we can get 40 signed up...then maybe we could shut down sign-up period.

There is no need for captains if you are doing teams of 4...when I suggested captains earlier, I thought you guys were going to make full clans, not 4 man battle squads. Captains are a waste of time in such a petty tournament...im sure the four people can develop their own strategies and dont need a captain to lay it our for them.

    The captains are primarily for the purpose of the draft. The role of the captain after the draft is up to the captains/teams.

i would just like to thank the RS community for a fantastic turnout on this.
frankly when i started to run with this idea, i wasnt expecting more then 20 people to sign up, but we have more than doubled that.

p.s. if signups continue like this we may have to cut off them off early. if that happens we may do this again next season along with the regular battle league and than the new people would be drafted into the league

Loth, who volunteered to not play if there were people who couldn't get in...maybe cookie can take one of their spots?

Bondo, Typhy and Brain both volunteered to not play if necessary, but they are both captains so that will complicate things a little more.  I think Brain would be the more willing not to play because it is his league and he wants to maybe just watch over it and run it along with you and Loth.  But still then we would need another captain.  Maybe we should just wait untill the draft is over, teams are selected then see if there are enough people for another round.

Actually, Brain was replaced as a captain already so he would be the easiest to take out...so Brain, if you want you can not play and cookie will take your place on the player list.

Seems that I'm a little bit late noticing things, oh well atleast I said who volunteered.  Maybe I should stay out of trying to help to much with this idea.  I'll leave it with my possible draft ideas and stop there now. ;)
