Title: Jk2 and MoH ladders Post by: Jackal.aHa! on February 24, 2003, 02:18:09 am Now that *DAMN has a GhR ladder, what about Jedi Knight 2 and Medal of Honor battle leagues. Both games have clans forming and are growing popular. It was just a thought, because i know it would make extra work for the admins.

I've been on this since these games came out jackal, so I wouldn't lose any time. I've asked Mauti about this for a while and he said that *DAMN is for strategy games and that "those games are more like quake". So, for the benefit of the mac community I decided to make ladders for these games. However, it's taking me a long time because Mauti and Ellandrion refuse to give me the php of *DAMN to use as a base, so I'm developing it from scratch. I can host it from my house but if anyone knows PHP very well (please dont contact me if you "sorta know PHP") I would be interested in working with them because I "sorta know PHP" which really means im having a hell of a time and I feel like a complete noob. Buccaneer ? we need GR/Mac only ladders. Kami ??since *DAMN refuses to host them (for good reason), I would likely host them myself, or if that sux, find somewhere else to host them. The DAMN BL isn't for GR only (or some of the people in CB's couldn't be there.)
The reason we didn't host ladders at MacClans was because to be good, ladders need lots of participation. And splintering the already small Mac community doesn't make sense. So it seemed like a better idea that we work together. And MaG lets you set up CB's on GR if you want, or on MagNet. You could probably even run the JK2 ladder, since it still needs help last time I checked. You want to concentrate the players in one spot, not dilute them into many. If you guys just pushed everyone that clans in those games towards one spot, it would work out fine. It's a hella lot easier just getting people to the right spot if all the ladders and everything are made, then making all of them and getting people to the new spot.

You have a couple guys here pushing for it, saying they will work on a ladder, but they wont just go into MaG and push it from that end. I don't get that. MaG isn't a clan like DAMN is. You, or Saberian, or Ross or Bronto could go in there at work it. Nothing stopping you at all.
Anyone that has said they'd be all for it, or that they'd help out should be helping out there, and pulling the players over there for it. If you are waiting for an invite, consider yourselves invited. Jump right in.
