Title: Re:saudi justice Post by: |MP|Buccaneer on February 16, 2003, 07:17:13 am Well, I'm against the death penalty, so I can't say I'm thrilled that he's getting it.
Other then that, I don't have many problems with the case. The aligations of torture only matter if the Saudi's crossed their own laws. If they were questioned, confessed, tried and punished by Saudi laws, then so be it. By working in those countries (the ones with less liberties, not just middle east) you have to accept the risk that comes with it. If you chose to work in many South American countries, you have to accept the risk that their due process is nothing like ours, and you can be held in jail for years before being heard. Torture can be an acceptable form of questioning (or what we would consider torture). If you chose to work and live there, you have to accept the bad with the good. |
