Title: State of the Union Post by: Supernatural Pie on January 29, 2003, 04:20:51 am Official "State of the Union Comments" Thread
Please leave any and all pro con, or indifferent statements about the State of the Union address here. Personally, I thought it was ok until the part where he said that Congress should pass a law banning all human cloning. BS I TELL YOU! BS! Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: Cossack on January 29, 2003, 04:39:56 am Bush is a dumbass. He is proposing a Tax Cut that will take away BILLIONS of revunue from government coffers right before he is to launch us into a war with Iraq while we are still in Afghanistan. Tax Cuts and a two front war is not a good thing for the economy. By the end of the decade according to some donkey from Washington we will be in 1 Trillion dollars in deficit. That is most likley an exagerated figure, but we will be close to it. To those that think that the tax cut will be helpful to the defence budget have to be retards (sorry ace). I do agree on his medical malpractice reform as long as it lowers are expenisve medical system.

Bush is said to have the iq of a 3rd grader. but i think thats being a little mean to 3rd graders. Casper P.S. anyone seen thoose backgrounds of bush making faces then a monkey making the same face? or the oneof a little girl holding a book and then bush holding the same book upside down looking over the girls shoulder :) P.S.S Bush is a Bumbass and should have never been elected. But that doesnt meen Gore was any better. my favorite of many al gore qoutes "I dont Fucking cuse" Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: KoS PY.nq.ict on January 29, 2003, 08:10:09 am Ah but so was Clinton so then that would make him a dumbass too?
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: kami on January 29, 2003, 04:56:45 pm Clinton was good for the American economy, Bush is bad. End of argument about American economics.
America has an expensive medical system? I thought you guys had a pretty cheap one since everyone has to buy their more advanced medical help themselves. Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: KoS PY.nq.ict on January 29, 2003, 05:11:12 pm Sigh....
Again...Presidents have nothing to do with the economy!!!! They can only introduce plans that will aid it and then Congress votes on it. Greenspan (who controls economic standards) has the real power of the economy. He and his team come up with an economic plan and then put it into action. HE MADE A SHITTY PLAN. Why? Because he doesn't like Bush. So when the economy goes to hell...bush gets blamed. FUCKING A!!!! People...the constitution doesn't give power to the President to control every aspect of our lives. IT'S TOO MUCH POWER!!!!! That's why its divided into cabinets, organizations, etc. etc. GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: kami on January 29, 2003, 05:24:43 pm You have got to be kidding, you don't think Bush has any control over the economic reforms?
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: KoS PY.nq.ict on January 29, 2003, 05:40:19 pm I said that he does Kami....try reading the post. Greenspan is the one who has total control. The president can only introduce plans that change or help the economy. They have to go through congress first.
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: BTs_Colin on January 30, 2003, 03:06:14 am it like he read the first 3 works and the replied
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: Cossack on January 30, 2003, 04:52:45 am He introduces dramatic, I mean these just arent small scale shits here, this is on large mutha fucking tax cut. Then he will go conduct war in/on two countries at once. Thus leaving the treasury bankrupt, lack of economic progress ensues. Greenspan contols intrest rates for the most part.
You know the same thing happened with George I. Much of it happened because he reduced funding to the government while spending a fortune in the Gulf War. Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: tasty on January 30, 2003, 07:03:00 am i'm not gonna say anything on the SOTU because most of it would be redundant of things i have already posted here. instead i thought i'd include some links to some of my favorite daily political blogs which all have something interesting and original to say about the SOTU:
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: Mr.Mellow on January 30, 2003, 05:17:47 pm Hmm. One thing that Bush said that was a bit funny.."As for the other terrorists...well, let's just say that they aren't a threat to the U.S. or her allies anymore." Kinda sick of him to say that, too, but it's all good. ;D
Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: ACE Justin Sane on January 30, 2003, 08:47:31 pm bushes tax refund plan is the thing that confused me, why is it that the rich people that make 300k/year end up paying less money percentage on taxes then the people that make 50k/year?
i would think that it'd be the other way around. you know the rich people spend MORE money on taxes then the..... less rich people. Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: *DAMN Hazard on January 30, 2003, 09:19:24 pm What I don't understand is the two front war like Cossack said. I have a small history background (being only in 9th grade) but war is supposed to boost the economy, but why go into two expensive wars that require us to ship our troops all over the world? My main concern is that we go into too many wars and divide our troops so many times that we just keep losing and eventually we are out of funds for wars and have to hope that other countries like England will bail us out.
Haz (If I said anything wrong.. which I probably did, feel free to pick it apart) Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: Agent Wallabie on January 31, 2003, 12:00:53 am Blowing smoke up our asses, but for once it seemed that Bush said something actully smart without saying something really stupid in the end.
I give it 2 thumbs up ;D ;D ;D Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: kami on January 31, 2003, 05:03:53 pm I read your third link Tasty, I agree with what it said.
I think it was funny how Bush found the missing link between Saddam and the Al-Qaeda in Norway, haha, I just love that. Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: EUR_Zaitsev on January 31, 2003, 09:10:05 pm There was one part that was not stupid or murderous. Giving money to stop Aids in Africa. The rest....sucked.

Title: Re:State of the Union Post by: |MP|Cringe on February 03, 2003, 04:40:44 pm Bush is a dumbass. He is proposing a Tax Cut that will take away BILLIONS of revunue from government coffers right before he is to launch us into a war with Iraq while we are still in Afghanistan. Tax Cuts and a two front war is not a good thing for the economy. Actually, this is kinda simple to explain. The American Democracy was created by people in a time where things like corporations didnt exist, so there were no laws regulating. Im not going to go into the whole process of how corporations started, but once they did and had huge amounts of money, they figured out how to legally control the government. They buy and legally bribe politicians like Bush, and in return, he helps them get even more money. Those tax cuts will give the select few that are very rich a huge break, by removing the double tax on dividends, letting them keep millions of dollars that should have gone to the govt. Most americans wont save more than a few bucks from this tax cut. Instead, the double tax on the things that most ppl lose their money on, still remains. |
