Title: Weapons Mods (Moderately Advanced) Post by: Ross Koepke on January 24, 2003, 10:53:01 pm I've been trying to make a new weapons mod, but got stuck (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/wallbash.gif) when I couldn't figure out how to change reload times, how long it takes to throw things (like flashbangs or grenades) :P , and how long it takes to set charges (like the C4). Anyone got any ideas?
Title: Re:Weapons Mods (Moderately Advanced) Post by: Supernatural Pie on January 25, 2003, 04:30:54 am You may want to check ecm.txt, found in the kit file.
However, I believe that only has the data for the effect of flashes, grenades, c4, breaches, etc, not the throwing or placing time. However... I think I hit the target. Look in the kit file, open (for example) largebreach.eq and frag.eq. A breaching charge takes a while to place, and a frag takes a short amount of time to place (fill up the bar.) Notice where it says "# // Encumbrance" the breach is 30, a large number the frag is 5, a small number You can notice similarities, like... electronic kit is a large number, and flashbangs are a small number. That is my guess, but I bet 20 bucks it's wrong Gotta love the edit feature ;D Title: Re:Weapons Mods (Moderately Advanced) Post by: Ross Koepke on January 25, 2003, 06:11:38 am Well that's important but its not what I'm looking for. Encumberance is used in EVERY kit item (even and esp. unis). It's basically the weight of the item. Machine guns make you go slow because they have a large encumberance, whereas a pistol doesnt. And heavy unis have amuch more encumberance than light. You get the idea. Thanks for your effort though :)
Title: Anybody? Post by: Ross Koepke on February 02, 2003, 10:26:58 pm No one knows how to do this? I know the data is held somehwere and its not a contant because breaches take longer to set than C4's. The data for the C4.eq file is
ST_EQP_C4 // Position of name text in localization file "C4" // Simulation name ; I think this is it, where do I edit this data? "Remote Charge" // Type 10 // Encumberance "c4_inv.bmp" // Bitmap name for inventory widget "act_inv_c4.bmp" // Inventory icon bitmap "longclip.bmp" // Bitmap name for inventory count "original cross" // Reticule Type Name "c4.rob" // Model filename "C4" // Explosion Classx Title: Re:Weapons Mods (Moderately Advanced) Post by: Casper on February 04, 2003, 10:00:51 pm umm where are you like what files are you looking at? is it the Kit items or the C4? i know how you change the clips for guns it is in the primary file thing i havent looked at c4 so i cant help :( sorry maybe i will look later!
