Title: Bah osx problems Post by: Flame on January 09, 2003, 11:42:29 pm Bah. I have a few problems here, 5 to be exact.
Classic. I pressed start classic, it starts, but nothing happens. This ?? was taken about 2 mins after I clicked it. The system prefs is there to show that I actually clicked start. Stupid Classic. I can't seem to search for new updates. Usually if there is no more updates I get a message saying there's no more updates. Stupid Software Update. I can't seem to install the developer tools, actually most things that involve Installer. It always "unexpectedly quits." Stupid Installer. Bah. I can't share my files since each time I click that button, nothing happens. This ?? was directly after I clicked the button. Stupid thingy that can't let us take animated ??'s? Stupid File Sharing. If you can help, it would be appreciated. Thank you. Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: Jeb on January 10, 2003, 12:49:48 am Flame,
about installing dev tools cringe tried to do that yesterday and after installation his Applications folder disapeared. I'm guessing that he is gonna have to reformate his HD or figure out wtf went wrong. Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: Flame on January 10, 2003, 01:13:13 am Hmm, I just wanna disable some metallic looks from apps? Maybe there's another application which does that besides Project Builder (I think it was) If so, then yay one problem solved, except most other Installer files also make it crash.
Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: jn.loudnotes on January 10, 2003, 02:48:06 am Well, I don't have any of the problems you describe. What is your computer set-up? Are these new problems or have you always had them?
Btw, using SnapZ Pro X you can take animated screenshots, they just have really slow framerate and it's hard to use. And I had no trouble in updating Office. Your comp is acting weird. Sorry but I can't help. Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: Flame on January 10, 2003, 03:33:05 am Computer setup? I don't know.
Classic - new problem it worked before File Sharing - new problem Installer - always had a problem Software update - new problem Heres a ?? from the error from Office : http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/flamewind/wordx.txt (http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/flamewind/wordx.txt) Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: |MP|Cringe on January 10, 2003, 04:46:56 am sigh i have to reformat ::cries::
Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: Mr. Lothario on January 10, 2003, 04:56:11 am Is the account you're using an administrator account? If it's not, that might explain the Installer problem, at least (and possibly also the Word problem).
Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: jn.loudnotes on January 10, 2003, 01:34:44 pm Oh yeah. . .the password its asking for is your mac login password. OS X requires it before running any installers, etc.
And by setup, I mean what kind of computer are you using, are you on a network, etc Title: Re:Bah osx problems Post by: Flame on January 10, 2003, 04:05:03 pm Yes it is an administrator password? Heres a ?? of if it isn't:
