Title: Ghost Recon, help!
Post by: Rigid Ice on December 25, 2002, 06:46:15 pm
For Christmas I got Ghost Recon and Desert Siege, but Ghost Recon doesn't work!  :o Everytime it starts to load and displays the Tom Clancy's GR screen, the CD starts to slow down, then says "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down". Why??? I've tried unistalling it, then reinstalling it, but it doesn't work. I also have all the system requirements- please help, anybody!

illegal opperation?
that sounds like a pc problem.
if that happened on a mac i would recomend deleting the prefs and if that doesn't work rebuild the desktop

yes, it is a PC problem. rebuild the desktop, whats that mean ???, lol. If it means launching the game from the desktop, I have already launched it straight from the CD.

Funny enough, now when I play GR, it says "Please insert game CD", and it is in and when I play Desert Siege, it says "Illegal Operation..." Please help.

First, do your PC specs meet the minimum requirements of GhR?

Anyway, it sounds like you're just running the game off of the CD, which might not always work.  If you have the HD space, do a full install and run the game from your computer.   If that doesn't work, buy a Mac  8)
