Hey ppl, I am at school and i was checking out the forums and i thought to myself after reading a few ppl's post and many of them from friends I have known now for a long time like pyrex etc, and it hit me!!!
Where did u guys come up with the names you have?

Mine....well I got it from Kirok (my bro)who got it from an episode of Star Trek i believe and he also got his from Star Trek.  What bites the most is when you see someone else come onto GR etc and they have the same name as you, well i have seen a few Nomad's but I am THEE true Nomad *crowd cheers*...NOMAD NOMAD NOMAD!!!!

Anyway, should be interesting to see where/how ppl got their names.

The story of how I became known as tasty is a long and interesting one. It all started in 9th grade basketball. My friends and I were too lazy to try very hard or run in any of the sprints, so rather than playing on the "a" team or the "b" team we made our own team: the egg team. The primary tenets of this "egg team" were eating eggs, not running, and depantsing unsuspecting teammates. Needless to say, we ate a lot of eggs (scrambled, omelettes, eggs benedict, etc.) that year and I changed my AOL screenname to "tasty eggs" (which it has been ever since). When I started to get into warezing/hacking/hotline, I shortened it to just "tasty". I then transferred this name over to gameranger and the rest is history.

Just to follow up: I still eat eggs as much as humanly possible (because they are the ambrosia of our humanly world). I also still play basketball, and I am still really, really lazy. w00t.

My first GR nick was really bad so I'm not going to reveal that. But well about 2 and a half years ago I changed it to kamikaze, which a world war 2 crazed friend of mine liked since I'm half jap, I had that for quite a while, then I changed it to kamisama which is japanese for ?holy spirit?, then it just shortened down to kami, which everyone had been calling me all the time anyway. That's the short story of my nick ;)

My original screenname on GR was stewcow. Don't ask how I came up with that because I don't want to explain. Then one day I was looking around my dorm room and saw a pyrex dish. BAM. I took up the name Pyrex. A few months ago I changed my name to PY since a lot of people were calling me that instead of pyrex. Plus I was getting ragged on for having the name of a glass cooking dish.

mmm... well, I got "Capt. Anarchy" from an Anti Flag song. Was just minding my own business, bored as fuck, song comes on, and i think "oh, i'll use that as my name!" Of course, it look terrible without any clantags or anything so that was also the moment of creation for *NADS.

Starcraft: spazmotik. just because it sounded cool.

Tacops: TheIdealTaco. Because "spazmotik" was too boring. i don't know why i chose this... i don't really even like tacos. But it had a nice ring to it.

I think its because the initials make T.I.T. Your subconcious was quite active when you thought of the name. Assuming that you like tits...cough...or cock...cough

I just use the same nick for most things.

I've always been bronto on gr. My friend gave me that name when we were watching a movie in class about african people and there was those people with the rings on their necks to make them really long, so i was like they look like brontosauruses so mike just decided to call me bronto from then on...and i like it. its sexy.

Hmm, well back in the day... which was 9th grade, I was a noob and discovered AIM while in a Computer class and friends were IM/ing back and forth across the room.  At the time I liked vipers so from then on my online nick has always included "viper."

Let's see, my first GR name was Swoop, because I played a lot of F/A-18 Hornet Korea back in the day. Then, I changed it to Mr. Mellow, cuz that's pretty much my philosophy in life. Just be laid back and mellow. On Vendetta(anyone play that?), the name I use most is Professor Penguin. I saw a cartoon with a penguin wearing a tophat and one of those glass opticals over his eye, and it just gave me the idea. I think it's pretty funny. I also use Penguin, Ph.D. When I used to play StarCraft and stuff on B.net, my name was Pork Soda, after the Primus album.

well my parents named me colin so from then on people have been calling me colin. I decided to use it online because theres always so much fuss about not using your real name on the internet so i decided to say 'screw that'.


actually the name I used to use for everything was CAR_12.

It's my initials and the age I was when I got the internet. Sweet eh.

Well my real name is Matt, everyone knows that. Well one day on Gr i couldnt think of a name. So i decided to use my name Matt. Then my dad started calling me Mattster, so i used the name. Its been my name ever since. (besides when i changed it to Infinty), which is a course on Bristol Mountain where i snowboard.

   I've had alot of names but this is the only one that really stuck. I went to Australia over the summer and at a Zoo I saw two Wallaby's fucking. I got pictures too  :D But enny ways, I tryed to find the way to spell it (stupid huh?) and actully found the wrong way, 'Wallabie' It's the name of the Australian Rugby team. So you see I got mine from two Wallaby's having sex and a spelling error   ;)

I was united in a great battle with my 8000 year old sameri master, after we defeated the great Pokemon Clan of the North he became mortaly wounded. As i held him dieing in my arms, his final words were "farmer....  Jeb"

I got Cossack because my family were Cossacks. They were people on horsebacks with no bosses, they drank, they were dirty stinky cussing renegades. More importantly they were insane. I drink, am dirty, I fucking cuss all the fucking time, and I am a renegade.

I began as "hal" which is my true nickname in life but then I changed it to sniper because thats what I did a lot and I liked the Sniper in Saving Private Ryan. then I create Clan |ROTC| (yes yes all you critizers snicker if you will)  and the then PnzrLeader and I met. We were best of online friends and both newbies so stuck together. Then we wanted a name change. PnzrLeader, although a New Yorker is closley tied to the German Governemtn and all that good stuff and although is not a nazi or not racist he did think had a smart general been in charge The German army could have won in the 1940's (he doesnt again he DOESNT support the views of the third Reich). At anyrate he wanted something german I wanted something Sniper and we wanted named that fit together (Salt and Pepper type deal) And we find the perfect match, the Russian SNIPER Zaitsev, and the GERMAN sniper Konig. And they fit together. Also I am partly Russian though not by birth, My Grandfather was and changed name @ Angel Island. At anyrate thats the end of story time.

To bad jeb had to make his up, I wanted to know where he got his name from. On a childrens TV show there was a guy named Farmer Jeb. Maybe he got it from that   ;)

ok fine the real un glamorous truth about my name comes out...
it was the 2000 election with the whole hanging chad thingy and they kept talking about Jeb Bush, at the time i was reading the LoTR for a sifi class in school and one of the charicters was named "farmer maggot" or something like that. So i just put the two togeth somehow and Blam "farmerjeb"

Ace - My first time on GR I needed a name so I went with it. I had used it as a nickname before that, but explaining it would be a rather bland story. In retrospect, I wish I picked something more unique. There are way too many people named "Ace"

Malleus - This is the my online persona outside of GR. Anyone who has talked to me on AIM would recognize it. It comes from an AFI song ("Malleus Maleficarum" off Black Sails in the Sunset), and it means "hammer" in latin. I find it to be a lot more unique and cool than Ace, but everyone on GR knows me as Ace so I doubt I'll change anytime soon.

Malleus is also where the word ?malleable? comes from, which means easily able to form. Just for your information, I know how interested you all are!

My original and true GR nick ( also my nick in other things ) HoloGram, has been thought out by me in an dark rainy day. I though of something special, a nick that not evry body uses - sure some ppl have the same nick too - . I didnt want something normal like Killer, or God, or any Name of a action Hero of a movi.

But i alsway liked the startwars movies and the technolgie - and the teleporting stuff and the Holografic Rooms. A hologram is funny, it is something that u can see but it is not there - its an illusion. and after i though me beeing a HoloGram for the gaming community and my opponents i desided that should be my nick name.

The Nickname Angel, came from an other Idea after i joined EUR. when the clan ANGELs got inactive for a while, i needed a new nick for EUR b/c i did not want to use the same nick for two Clans. HoloGram was always and will stay an *ANGEL*. The i desided to take something that reminds my on my old Clan. so i took Angel.

  But enny ways I remembered my very 1st name. K-jah, taken from GTA3, and my other name Swami, I got that one from the movie 'The Devil's Advolcate'. Great movie by the way  ;)

Ok, I logged onto a computer, and found someone with the aim s/n "flamewind66", so I took that over, and used it as my GR name, except people called me flame, so I shortened it. Weee, lies.

   Just tell the trueth Flame, you picked that name becouse ur a big flamer   ;)

I have only had 2 names on GR. Some of you that have been around for a while may remeber me as Father. When snake and I decided to form our own clan I decided to change my name to tabu for a day, then to voodoo.

On another note i basically stumbled onto GR by accident one day. I had bought Elite Force and loved playing it on there servers. It was easy to find a game at low pings. I was going through some of the files about, 3 months after i bought it, and stumbled onto the GR folder. I was like, WHATS THIS. So I installed it and took on the name Father and it was history from there. Download the RS demo, so on and so on... Some ppl. even called me Padre. ah well, lame story. 8)

Actually walla, my first name was Falcon for some reason, and then I had to change it (won't tell why). I then picked flamewind for some reason also.
Also, you picked your name because you are a big wall-of-pee ;).

My original GR name was "[Janitor] Mort".  Because I was in the Janitor clan, and because my name is Mort.

Then, when Mort had a reputation for sucking and for being a jackass in games, I changed my name to Precious Roy, in honor of my favorite Sifl & Olly character: Precious Roy.  He's a sock puppet.  He likes the indigo girls. He thinks you guys smell like old soup.  He's making lotsa suckers out of boys and girls.

And now I'll stop talking, because it's better for everyone if I do.

i started out as "macfundamentalist" on Napster mostly.
Think i had to change it when i got GameRanger with AoE1. Sine macfundamentalist is too long for the name box of GR (i think)  ;D
then, well, uh, i just started using my brain, and came up with MacMan. I'm almost always online with MacMan or a variation of it. (MacMan.stoned, firstMacMan (on AIM and iChat)

Hmm. I changed my name from Swoop to Mr.Mellow on GR because someone kept spreading rumors about me TKing and stuff. Wasn't very nice of them, and I'm pretty sure it was Chinka/Rock who started it. haha. I ended up being in a few clans with him, too..Freaky.

well, i've been cookie for as long as i can remember online.
i think it started something like this:
AOL Instant Messenger?: pick a name.
