All this talk about young people has made me decide to post this thread about, IQ TESTS!! Woot! Anyway... Just take the IQ Test at the link at the end of my post and post what your results were! My result was 115!

I got a 136.  My "intellectual type" is "Visonary Philosopher.  Which is good, cause in all likelyhood I'll be a philo major.

I'm proud of myself, I've taken a few IQ tests before, but never hungover like I am now.  This is good.  I'm almost as smart hungover as I am normally!

(P.S. by the way, I don't usually like to share scores with people, but  as this is a computer IQ test, and therefore not libel to be accurate, I thought I would.)

Yeah tasty I'd have to agree.  I really don't want to know what my IQ is. . .I don't see how any good could possibly come from knowing it.

The options:

I'm stupid - I'd be depressed.
I'm average - My ego would be deflated, and I'd be whiny.
I'm smart - My ego would be inflated, and people would hate me.
I'm freakishly smart - I'd be so brilliant it would be scary.

Actually, I went back to Emode to look at my scores.  I apparently took the test on June 11, 2001. . .and had a 135, just like almost everyone else.

i thought i remembered hearing that the IQ test was simply a means of figuring out who  was mentaly challenged, and who wasn't. It worked as a way of weeding out who belonged in regular school, and who didn't. Wasn't there was a scene in forest gump where the principle was telling the forrest's mom that he didn't belong in that school?
The only test more boring than the iq test is the PSATs.

Anyhow, Ben maybe you're not as clever as you think you are.  If the test is any good, an answer that appears to be very wrong may actually be correct in some form or another.  I don't know, it's been awhile since I took it. . . but maybe your 77 is a better indicator of intelligence than your 129  ;)

so, reading over the results i've come to 2 possible conclusions

1)  most of this community is extremly smart, above genius level.
or
2) this IQ test is wacked out
or both meaning while the distribution is accurate, the numbers are not

Yeah I agree with Brain and Cookie, the test is messed up or you guys are lying.  Typhy thinks he got a 140, no offense but that's bullshit, we know Typhy just likes to be better than everyone ;).  I'm not afraid to say my real score of 69.

When I was like 12 I took a better IQ Test (one with a time limit and that asked your age PRIOR to taking it) and got a 140+ (I guess the point where it says it can't determine with accuracy any higher or something).

yeah i have a few things to say about that test:

IQs are a thing of the past and have been proven to be inaccurate and unknowable, even when performed by psychologists

the emode.com IQ test is a commercial piece of shit that told me because i am a "visionary philsopher" that i love chocolate and that my life might be drastically changed. the test is designed to place people within a certain range of IQs so they can match them up on the emode.com dating service.

did anyone else think that many of the fill-in the word things on that test didn't make much sense? regardless, IQ tests with words are also unfair because they measure experience rather than intelligence

Lmao I got a 136, Ive taken a real one and got like a 110, and I have to take ADRP's in school and I do well on those, but a 136 is complete bs
