Title: base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Brain on August 26, 2002, 11:44:34 pm well, 4 days before the strike date. and as far as i know neither side has showed any sign of giving in it looks to me like if there is a strike it could kill the sport of baseball. what do you think? I listen to Sporting News Radio each night, it's amazing how many people call in saying that they will never watch another game, but when asked about the 1994 strike, they just say that they missed it to much, same thing will happen here, for a while people will stay away from it, but each and every good baseball fan will come back.
P.S, Giants suck! Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: kos.viper on August 26, 2002, 11:54:45 pm If the tigers were actually good and I liked baseball, I'd care ;D
Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Bondo on August 27, 2002, 12:03:27 am Well, I watch a baseball game on TV maybe once every 1-2 weeks when I feel like it, and I'd go back to doing that...I usually go to 1 game a year as well and don't see why that would change either.
I don't particularly like baseball...it is a fine sport and something to watch occasionally but nothing to go out of your way to see. Anyway, the strike will have no real effect on me. Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: ?(uNt?YodaTi.Hfa on August 27, 2002, 01:24:29 am I am a diehard Baseball fan, hell i like the cubs and they havent won a world series since 1908! I will definatly go back to watching it. There is one thing i cant understand. These guys get payed $2million a year about, for playing a game, yet they want more. WTF ARE THESE SELFISH BASTARDS DOING!! thats all i have to say. >:(
Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Flame on August 27, 2002, 01:34:22 am im also a baseball fan (though not dieheart) and a yankees/mets fan also. of course id continue watching it, hopefully either the yankees or mets will win again :D
also, the guys are payed a million dollars just for swinging a bat or tossing a ball around and they get payed even if they lose 200-0 or even if they dont play. what else do they want? Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Cow on August 27, 2002, 02:39:45 am i am excited about the strike i cant wait for baseball to die. No more of these 3-8 hour games take up TV. They should get paid shit cause they do is stand around and jerk off. Give the money to some one who needs it not these wife beaters, fuck you baseball.
Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Typhy on August 27, 2002, 08:00:44 am Do I think that A-Rod deserves to make 252 million? No. But I think a lot of you don't realize just what these players have to go through, durring the season, baseball is their only life, they're on the road half the time, and playing nearly every day for 4 hours, with that goes tons of training, this isn't just adults playing a kids game, it's a job.
Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Jeb on August 27, 2002, 08:08:59 am 2 words,
Money whores. in cities that have good teams its kinda sad, like NY, and seattle. its also sad that i have marriners tickets a few days after the deadline :( Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Typhy on August 27, 2002, 08:30:06 am How many days after? My guess is that if they do go on strike, it will be resolved within 10 days, I really doubt that there will be any cancelation of playoff games, my guess is that the season will end up being about 10 games shorter, 152 insead of 162.
P.S, Mariners all the way, Finally somthing Jeb I can agree on ;) Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Bondo on August 27, 2002, 08:50:02 am Jeb, I'm pretty sure you can get refund...otherwise there would be one big fucking class action suit against MLB. Just like if a game is rained out (not counting rain out, if it is official then it is a game) they have to make up for it through new tickets or money.
Bah to the Mariners...the team to cheer for is my home-town team of old...a team winning the right way, with players brought up through the farm system...with reasonable salaries...I of course speak of the Minnesota Twins. My Homer Hankie will be waving proud. Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Jeb on August 27, 2002, 08:54:17 am i've loved the mariners since they sucked, and i better get a refund on that ticket, cause it was a 40$ one, 5th row somewere around the third baseline
Title: Re:base ball strike: how wil it affect you Post by: Casper on August 27, 2002, 09:32:10 am Tight mariners Kick Ass!!! But i dont think there will be a canceling of any play off games... lets hope not
