Vapor on August 24, 2002, 02:50:19 am I plan on gettin Ghost Recon.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: 214_Mad_Moose on August 24, 2002, 03:19:34 am a note to those of you who havent played it yet on PC..or otherwise.
dont go using rogue spear tactics they dont work that well in this game ;) Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: blah on August 24, 2002, 03:34:08 am Yeah, the AI in this game isn't that of complete moronic noobs, the terrorists are true clownsacks?.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: A?K Kilzo on August 24, 2002, 03:44:11 am Bah to Ghost recon, if your an R6, RS player then you wont like it. I think it sucks ass. Raven Shield is the one to wait for, that will own.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: BTs_Colin on August 24, 2002, 03:52:19 am What kilzo says is true.
Don't waste your time. Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: blah on August 24, 2002, 03:53:22 am Kilzo, if you're a fool and a n00b and you like easy single player, stick to r6 and rs. But if you want a challenge, play Ghost Recon. It's much more realistic, and much more fun in sp.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: alaric on August 24, 2002, 03:59:33 am I love the tactics used in R6/RS but I also love the Ghost Recon tactics and AIs. I started Ghost Recon at elite and right from the beginning the AI kicked my ass. It was nice to finally get a real challenge from a tactical shooter.
I can understand how you may not like the new tactics and AIs used in Ghost Recon but I like to stay a well rounded gamer. It's important to keep learning and growing as a player of tactical shooters. Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: blah on August 24, 2002, 04:04:11 am Agreed.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Supernatural Pie on August 24, 2002, 07:28:57 am I played GhR at Macworld for a bit, but couldn't completely get used to the game due to the short amount of time I had to play it. But from what I could see, the terrorists are much smarter and the graphics are hellug'd. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/ukliam2.gif)
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Brain on August 24, 2002, 08:07:17 am i plan on getting ghost recon as soon as it comes out
aspyr is an excelent company that deserves out support, if any of you were planning on obtaining this game through*ahem* other means, i suggest you reconsider Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: PsYcO aSsAsSiN on August 24, 2002, 08:12:53 am Ghost Recon is a very good game...it has basically stopped me from playing RS now. AI's are very very good...in most cases, if they see you, you are dead. Graphics are superior to both R6/RS and it is just a better game overall. You guys just better pray that you dont get another shitty port job.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: 5 1 5 0 on August 24, 2002, 10:05:21 am I plan on buying ghost recon!
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: kos.viper on August 24, 2002, 04:38:41 pm What's the speed of the game? Tactical Ops kind of fast, MOHAA fast, or RS ?
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Giant Chicken on August 24, 2002, 05:45:28 pm Dont get it!!! it suck for so those who are use to RS tactics... has too big of maps for very few tangos. Guns suck. why? no MP5's or anything like that sort. No assult rifles. Just "war guns". I would'nt recommend it! Make sure you DL the Demo b 4 buying it.
--Posted by: +-KoS-+ Vip3r Posted on: Today at 07:38:41am What's the speed of the game? Tactical Ops kind of fast, MOHAA fast, or RS ? -- Viper, slow ass hell!!!!!!!! theres three teams of three men on each team for SP Question: Does'nt Deadeye sound sooo much like Grift? Are they Family? Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Giant Chicken on August 24, 2002, 06:17:30 pm Retraction!!!!
there is a MP5 and SD but they suck . the ony weapon i remeber that is very worth while is the AK-47 or was it the 74? Anyways, not to mention its has SA HB's, lol for those in that other thread. Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: bronto on August 24, 2002, 06:30:37 pm I have ghost recon on this here PC, and i got very bored of it the first day. I would take Rogue Spear over Ghost Recon any day.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: 214_Mad_Moose on August 25, 2002, 12:05:19 am Stop whining just because u cant use your newb guns and rs tactics. if you were a good player you would be able to change them for different games.
and quit complaining because its not a rogue spear clone! Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: theN00b on August 25, 2002, 12:47:00 am The aspect of Ghost Recon I cant wait for has to be the Snipe ghille suits and the ability to fucking lay down on the god damn ground. Just imagine what an old shcool camper like me will use that shit for.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Jeb on August 25, 2002, 01:04:15 am Fast internet connection, 40$
Larger Hard drive for "stuff", 80$ getting games via "other means", priceless jeb ps. not that i'd do that, its just that it would make a great visa comercial (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/icon_bluh.gif) Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: iGnome on August 25, 2002, 01:07:29 am (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/banana.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/banana.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/banana.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/banana.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/banana.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/beer.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/uzi.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/rambo.gif) ok well im gonna buy goat reccon cause it kicks ass man i played it for .... pc still it was good but it will own for mac hmm ill "buy" it for sure !!!!!!!!!
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: Mr.Mellow on August 25, 2002, 01:41:13 am Just kinda curious, a question for the fellas with a PC and Ghost Recon...How big are the maps, and how long do the online games tend to drag on for? I'm kinda hopin' for big maps and long, long games. The only way I can do this with RS is with the Watchers Woods mod and banning sniper rifles. Good times. ST6 maps are good for that too..ANYWAYS. How big are the maps compared to..say..bunkers? I'd figure quite a few times bigger, but I've never played the game, or talked to anyone who has.
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: 214_Mad_Moose on August 25, 2002, 06:06:40 pm i played the castle map (the one that comes with the demo) and id have to say that its at least 10x bigger then bunkers
Title: Re:Ghost Recon Post by: PsYcO aSsAsSiN on August 25, 2002, 07:35:28 pm There are big maps, and there are small maps, but more big than small. However, some big maps such as M15 Red Square get made much smaller due to the fact that people generally stay in the combat zone of the actual square.
As for length of gameplay...length is determined by the host, it can be set for as long or as little as you want. Hell, I won a Ghost Recon tourney a month ago that was a 60 minute free for all with infinite spawns. Speaking of spawns, the host can also determine the amount of spawns will be for everyone in the game. But if you guys always whine about the larger maps, never fear...some brilliant PC guys ported all of the R6 and RS maps in a map pack for Ghost Recon...so you will never be too far away from your roots. If we don;t support recon then they will loose money and that company won't produce mac games.
