Title: Converted US TAC Mod, but... Post by: Siddhartha on October 17, 2001, 03:38:11 am I just converted my first mod.
The US TAC team mod. its great, but i wonder....has anyone converted it and lost NADE sounds? i hear them drop, but silent explosions. also some kinda whacky stuff going on with the pictures in the setup screen when you choose your equipment. anyone else finding this? of is it just me? someone let me know please? Way to go cocos this is a great mod. lots of fun. i enjoy the new voices too. Ya did good. Title: Re: Converted US TAC Mod, but... Post by: Toby on October 17, 2001, 04:26:43 am I've got exactly the same problem - and a couple of others:
The taurus pistol has no firing sound and Reloading the FN P90 makes no sound either. Weird. Otherwise, everything's fine, although I do get the same ghosting in the menus, but that happens with a couple of other mods as well. And it is a great mod. So what are the new uniforms like? anyone?
Can someone email me the converted .exe file? i dont want to spend 9 bucks to use the PC at kinko's again. :) Title: Re: Converted US TAC Mod, but... Post by: Toby on October 17, 2001, 02:17:17 pm The Taurus sound problem lies in the original .wpn file, which seems to be missing an allocated firing sound - but I'm not sure what's causing the other sounds to disappear. Noooo idea.
Sorry, Siddhartha, but I junked my .exe for the Easter egg - it might be worth holding off anyway, as there's a small bug in it which means you can't select two weapons from your current list - Cobra mentions something about it in one of the posts below, and that he'll get around to fixing it. Post by: Cocobolo on October 17, 2001, 02:41:06 pm There's no problem with the original weapon file, in fact that weapon has a distinctive sound, no other weapon in the mod has. I use it all the time just because of the power and the sound. Something must be getting screwed up in the conversion to MAC format. Also, please do not distribute this conversion, *DAMN is our official MAC convertor and because of the quality of the work they have done in the past, I want to make sure they are the ones releasing the converts. No offense, but as you can see we are hosted on the *DAMN forums, and *DAMN Mauti is a close ally of Cocobolo Ops.
Thanks Guys Title: Re: Converted US TAC Mod, but... Post by: Siddhartha on October 17, 2001, 07:11:44 pm Dont sweat it up brother. Neither one of us is putting the mod on a server for people to snag. Well..at least i'm not. = )
I just didnt want to wait. Wasnt sure when Mauti was gonna get to it, so i was bored and figured i'd try it myself. Hmmm. I'll have to go back and check that wpn file. Thanks for the heads up Cocobrother. Title: Re: Converted US TAC Mod, but... Post by: Toby on October 18, 2001, 10:13:51 am I'm more than happy to wait for Mauti to post it - he does a great job of converting, but I'd like to keep using this thread to discuss problems that are cropping up in the Mac conversion's we've done for ourselves- and perhaps this thread could well prove to be of some use to Mauti when he converts the mod - as these are problems I've never run into when converting mods for myself before -
So, to add to the list of problems post conversion - the S&W .357 is also lacking a firing sound. Toby |
