Title: Without Remorse
Post by: *DAMN Postal Worker on August 11, 2002, 11:33:51 pm
Has anyone read this book?  It's about how John Clark gets started off with the CIA and all.  What a badass!
This guy takes anyone out...without a second thought.  He refited his Colt 45 to fire .22 rifle rounds and just goes about kickin the shit out of people.

One instance is he corners two drug dealers...who...well, have done nothing wrong really, but after they give him the information he needs, he just puts them on their knees in an ally and puts two rounds into eacho of their heads and walks away.

He made his own silencer for chrissake  (no, not a pillow...a real one)

Give this one a read, any of you who like Clancy.  What a flippin' beast.

Pretty nasty... kind of remind me of the movie Training Day. I'm not sure why, but it does. 8)

i dont agree with tom's stance on the war against drugs  e.g. fighting it by killing dealers  ;)  but its a kickass book with some cool urban spy-type scenes.  it makes me think twice next time I look at a wino that's "sleeping" in the ghetto  ;D

Here is how they should fight the drug war...go old school and sit there and watch as the dealer does all the drugs he has...sort of like when a father makes his son smoke a whole pack in like 10 min so that he won't do it again...saw that on some TV show.

It was In The Line Of Fire, but the actor wasn't Harrison Ford, it was Clint Eastwood.

yeah I've got to agree with you - that was a great book. ?You know it was the books that got me into this game in the first place!

But I must say I don't agree with Clancy on any of his domestic and foreign policy ideas. ?He's about as close to a right-wing nut as I've ever heard of. ?But he sure can write!

Well, slight correction - his writing is nothing amazing, but he knows how to entertain and keep ahold of his audience.

The Sum of All Fears was the first Clancy book I read (just finished it btw). All through the book Clancy hints at all the other missions Clark has been on. Man, I wouldn't want to run into that guy in a dark alley.

I was also pleased to see that my favorite R6/RS character (Ding Chavez) was also in "Sum of All Fears".  :)

clansy's books seem to have the same plot with different people, but thats based of reading Rainbow6 and watching one of the movies

Alaric, if you like Chavez...check out Clear and Present Danger.  That boy sure knows how to shoot, lemme tell ya.
But in all honesty, I think my fav Clancy characters are Clark, Jack Ryan, Eddie Price, and Weber.

Hey, just curious...when you guys play R6/RS, whos your "main" guy...who you usually are in single or multi. coop.  I know alot of you amatures take Chavez (oh, hes got hundreds in THREE of the stats!)  Well, I opt for Walther or Johnson.  Fuckin' a right there.

Usually I play as Chavez (he's well rounded, what can I say?) but sometimes when I use the "pistol-uzi" tactic I use a recon guy. They're quieter and faster than assault guys.

I've tried playing as a sniper, but it just seems like they fire their pistol so much slower than an assault or recon character. Maybe it's just me.

Has anyone else noticed that sniper characters fire their pistol slower than assault or recon?
