UO sucks when it comes to sniping. it's rarely an effective form of attack unless you're having some kind of sniper match. and as for Nishi already making a model for the next GR mod....thats ok, wont stop my buddy from making one   :)

Someone get me a good side pic of it, Ill give it a try. I upgraded to max 3.1 from 2.5. I only have the plugins for gr currently. I can dig back through and find my old uo plugins. Or...will they conflict? Or can I use the same ones, keep in mind I only know how to model, dont know shit about the technical part of it all. Anyway, if I can, I will be glad to model it for ya. I would assume, the gob and rsb files would work, may just not be able to get into uo using the gr plugins? If so, I can send someone the qob, rsb, and max files associated with it. Just let me know.

Can't find any good side pics of the DSR-1, but I found this. This pic really does the WA2000 justice.

sho I cant find a decent side pic of the wep. Look around and see if you can find one.

I dont like sniper rifles for use in the game but I have to admit these two look hot. Nice pic cobra.

There is the one on the bottom of this page, maybe someone good at playing with Photshop could remove the back ground well enough

Cobra heres the wa2000. Its yours if ya want it. Does it kinda look funny? Just dont appear right to me. I think its the way the hand grip sticks out at the bottom?

Looks good to me. Maybe the handgrip is a little long but otherwise looks sweet.

Real nice work. Maybe darken up the texture a lil or take some of the blue out with color balance, but it's sweet! To me, looks like the actual hands on the GR character models are a little small, making some of the grips appear long while the rest of the rifle is in scale. Strange.

you say that now coco, your gonna s@#t when you see the poly count on that baby  ;D. I need to learn how to delete faces (think thats the correct terminology) you know what I mean though. I dont know how to check the poly count but its not made with any cylinders so it shouldnt be that bad.
I agree on making it darker, actually I did that once under variations in photoshop. Needs to be done again.

One question coco, will the qob and rsb files work in uo if its made in max with the plugins for gr? Just wondering, I would go ahead and try it myself, but Im paranoid about messing something up, lol.

Post by: WardenMac on May 02, 2002, 12:18:33 pm
also on the hand comment coco, I actually shortened the hand grip this time. I only traced it 3/4 of the actual length trying to get it to fit correctly. Also the helper points would help alot on actually placing each hand where it needs to be. Im going to learn that next.

WM: I think, never tried it, the way in which the GR weapons are made is different to the way UO weapons are, but I think Ive read somewhere that with tweaking, scaling and reorintating it works.

As far as I know mac, a model's a model until you export it as a qob or something else. The original MAX file stays the same.... As for deleting faces, I never have, never bothered, lol. I'm pretty sure GR can handle a lot more poly's than RS can.

I am going to pick up GR today, it's my Bday, what the heck. 8)
