I was just wondering if any version of the DE is gonna be in the mod? I'm a little fuzzy on if the DE is made by IMI or not...I've seen some mods that have it labeled IMI Desert Eagle...and I've seen some mods that dont have the IMI label. Don't know much about the pistol, myself...but I think it rocks, so. just curious.  ???

Ahem. Yes, let's clear up this for everyone;

The Desert Eagle is a design which has its origin from the IMI engineers drawings. In 1996 the blueprints were sold to the california based company, Magnum Research Inc. or MRI. They developed some improvements to the pistol including new finshes, grips, rails and best of all, new chamberings. The MRI offered the Desert Eagle for the hefty .50AE chambering in 1997. Three yrs later the .440Cor-Bon was included in the series. The .440 round is an improved version of the classic .44 Magnum round. The .440 is said to be almost as powerful as the .50AE version. Anyway. I do not know for sure, but I do think the Israelis stopped production of this particular gun a couple of years ago. Still in productions by MRI, and doing well on the market due to its fearsome appearance and its deadly exotic chamberings.


In my personal mod, I have 4 different DE's, two original Israeli ones (.357 and .44), and two other ones made by MRI (.440 and .50). The latter ones has better models/textures, and new sound files.

Good info LM CAT, funny you should mention the .440 cor-bon. I absolutely love the Tromix .440 rifle. My favorite looking wep I think. Hmmmm...reminds me, I need to make a new one. You guys remember Coco's version in the TAC Mod? Just awesome! No one even really mentioned that weapon in that mod. I was heartbroken  :(

The jackhammer, I loved that monster. Take anybody out in one shot, maybe we shoulda made a sniper version? There were a lot of weps in that mod that we each had a personal thing for I think. I loved the MP5 RIS with the fixed stock, and laser up front with the little wire coming off ;D

Or the MC51 tactical? 7.62 shorty beast... or the FAL tactical? That was the sweetest looking model..

Cheer up WM , the Tromix is one of the guns i like to use when doing the Oil Tanker map or the 747 . It's a fun gun .

Okay, my faith in humanity is restored. Coco, on the sniper version, they also made a tacthammer, it was a totally different wep that would do for that. It looked great too !Unfortunately the only texture I have is blurry and I lost all the others a while ago. The site is gone too  >:(.

Yeah I created that texture from other m16 testures. I just made the barrel extra thick and flared it near the end. Most of the M16's in that mod were created from a couple textures that were just modified. That way they all have the same "look"..

The tackhammer, best I can do with the texture I got. I dont like the blue lenses and the scope mounts could be meshed into the correct shape but here is the wep I was talking about. Its a great looking wep that makes a great model with the right texture. Man that site had great hi-res pics too  ;D

yeah the mp5 is the only weapon i use at the moment (apart from for snipers). its a pity that you didnt put the laser on the SD version of the weapon though.

I don't think it will be Raven. No Israeli unit uses the weapon.

Yeah, sorry but the DE is more of a hollywood type of gun, not a practical sidearm because of it's huge weight and low mag capacity. None of the Israeli units I've researched use them.
