Title: Textures and resizing
Post by: Rigid Ice on July 12, 2002, 10:00:54 pm
I have noticed that several people have somehow ??? found a way to expand images without loosing any, or at least very little quality. I have 2 adobe programs and both, when I expand blur the pixels, but loose quality.

So, is there a way to expand an image without loosing much quality, or at least a way to make a 64x128 pixel turn into a 256x512 pixel image.

Thanks. ;)

You can expand the canvas, hit ctrl a, ctrl t, and make the pic larger, (I suggest using a ruler to ensure its increased correctly)open another texture, size it correctly (256x512) and paste the pic inside, rename and save. There may be other secrets Im not aware of. Most pics when increased that much will distort. Coco or cobra can probably be of more help.

You cannot get a better texture, resizing bigger. In Photo shop you can use filters on selections to aply some sharpening but to get it clean is very hard, it needs a lot of artwork.
The best thing is to start with big sharp images.
I used lately www.alltheweb.com to hunt classic handguns

yeah, you can reduce size and not lose detail, but you cannot increase the size and maintain the same detail level, it just doesnt work like that. You have to start with a big texture or big pieces and build a texture the size you want it.

Thanks guys. Its just that, I made a bunch of mods, and shrunk all the images like that- now, I can't undo that. I was also determined becuased a found in someone else's mods a leg texture that looked EXACTLY like the street2 light leg, only bigger and a different color.

Any idea's for sites with textures, becuase, I need to redo all of my mods now. :o

Try tridentmilitary.com, this is one of my old sources, which I have declassified, lol.... Every type of euro camo and many african, US, asian camo's to choose from. When working with textures i always try to save a .psd of the texture still in layers, just in case you want to change it, or make a different camo and keep the rest of the accesssories.
