Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Suicide_Commando on August 02, 2002, 03:52:27 pm Quote especially the m4, hot! ?;D Yeah it is. That's not in the mod, is it? Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: WardenMac on August 02, 2002, 04:22:09 pm nope, coco musta pulled that out of his as.....nevermind ;D
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Uziyahu_IDF on August 02, 2002, 05:04:46 pm Yeah, unless it is a chopped-down LR 300 it is missing a recoil buffer spring behind the bolt. I believe the LR300 uses some other kind of system in the foregrip to work the action.
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: kazan on August 02, 2002, 07:25:50 pm nice look me likes ;D
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: WardenMac on August 02, 2002, 09:26:25 pm I dont believe its a chopped down zm uzi. Its just a different variant of coco's m4 arsenal.
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Cocobolo on August 03, 2002, 05:36:43 pm Thanks I like the darkness myself, it reflects my MINDSTATE... haha
The gun is a M4 RIS base texture set up without accessories, since they have seperate parts of the texture/textures applied to them and then added. The gun is a composite of about 7-10 different gun pics, the stock is from a Z-M carbine, the foregrip/body/grip, muzzle/barrel/flash hider all were seperate pictures at one time. In fact, the reciever is actuall a shot of the left side, I had to paste the ecection port and hinged door onto this side, fooled ya!;) On top of that, the rail at the top of the reciever was added and also the elcan scope, then I overlayed it with a 2 camo and one shadow transparency airbrushed ?layers, and played with the hue/saturation/opacity till it looked right, then chopped/scratched it up with the eraser and various brushes. Finally, I used the burn tool on different parts to bring out the metallic/worn raised areas. Almost all the textures I do nowadays are like this, which is why it takes longer... ??? Oh and yeah this texture is used in the IDF mod Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Suicide_Commando on August 03, 2002, 06:23:33 pm Gee is that it Coco, you slacker. :o
In all seriousnes the textures and models in this mod are absolutely the best I've seen in any game. I'm not just saying this to blow sunshine up your collective asses, they really are that impressive. ;) Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Uziyahu_IDF on August 03, 2002, 08:56:28 pm Hey, Coco, don't think that the absence of any forward-assist button escaped my intimate acquaintance (slept with 'em, in other words) with M16 variants. ;) I figured it was some kind of customization of an old experimental upper receiver from the Vietnam era... must be some of those laying around. :)
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: WardenMac on August 03, 2002, 09:12:59 pm Thx SC, now you know why Im so glad when coco takes all the models and works his magic on them. I wasnt kidding when I said no one that I was aware of puts this much effort into making good models.
I can tell ya also, it is very difficult to "mimic" what he does, it does not look difficult, believe me it is. The guy is the best, no doubt. Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Suicide_Commando on August 03, 2002, 09:35:21 pm You're very welcome Mac. ;) Your sawn off CAR15/M203 is probably my favorite gun, there's just so many amazing ones to choose from. ;D
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: WardenMac on August 03, 2002, 10:20:04 pm hehe, yeah, I love the ret on that gun, cobra came up with a good one for that. I feel the gun may be a tad big and I wasnt familiar with edit mesh when I made it so the front sight isnt meshed correctly. Other than that, coco did great touchin up the texture. Actually, that wep and the magil were basically left alone, as you can tell.
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Suicide_Commando on August 03, 2002, 10:24:29 pm Hey don't sell yourself short Mac. Both those weapons look great. Your SOPMOD M4 and MK11 Mod 0 are awesome too.
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: WardenMac on August 03, 2002, 10:33:48 pm Coco did the mk11, he also touched up the texture on the m4 sopmod, gave that sweet green looking clip, colored the bipod, and few other things. Looks ten times better now.
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: kazan on August 04, 2002, 02:46:35 am That M4 looks like the M4 Alpine with out the flashlight but all the weapons look so dam fine. :)
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Cocobolo on August 05, 2002, 07:40:30 am It IS the same texture, I just used a different color camo layer instead of the brown/tan. Heh heh ;)
Title: Re: New look for Cocobolo Ops Post by: Mr_Grenade on August 05, 2002, 11:24:20 pm I figured out why your site looked so dark . Today i was playin Umberhulk 2 , the jungle level and was freaked out cause i couldn't see shit without the NVGs and i know i didn't have to use them before . Turns out i had to turn the brightness up on my monitor , now the site and the GR pics look %1000 better .
