I will be honest.
About ghr (my game …) there are like 5 clans left .
These are the mac clans.
I'm currently trying to hook up with some pc clans, and their league.

There are more than 50 clans there, and very active (192 cb in less than 2 weeks for bql)
If you don't open open the dbl to the pc clans, well ... its dead
I dont know for the other games

@ Worst: yeah you are probably right - but as long as Mac gaming isn't dead the *DBL isn't.
192 cb within 2 weeks that reminds me on season 5 and 9. However it will be a difficult challenge to reactivate the *DBL.

I'm still here lol. I've been away for a while tho and coming back there really is a huge drop in activity, but if the DBL can get running again i believe we can get quite a bit of activity back.

Of course dbl isnt dead,
but opening it to pc players would make it great
simply cause the few pc clans i know are really interrested in trying wz instead of lms …

Have you considered creating a new Game Ranger yourself Mauti and pitching it to EA/Cider using types... something tells me that GR won't pick up BF2142 Mac activity... or any of those other new games. As for me, I'm playing on Windows when I do; Intel Macs are a great thing.

I come back to these forums every once in a while.  Its for the people.  Miss the Mac solidarity.  Play  all my games on a PC now.  Mac just hasn't kept up with the gaming software.  @Mauti, consider starting a DBL ladder for GRAW 2.  It would be really exciting.  The game really leans very much toward the old GhR stlye of play.  Plus it is graphically amazing.  All I need is for someone to create a Warzone gametype, and I have my new game for the next 4 years. ;D

@ Myst: well GameRanger has the features to be the premium game matching service for PC and Mac, but I think it lacks a clear business concept and maybe it is just to big for a one man show. Developers need to built an interface for the GameRanger API, so GameRanger can launch games from within chat. Without this you can't launch most games, so what I want to say is that it all depends on the support of developers for GameRanger. If they want it, they contact Evill and built in an interface that allows Evill to start games with GameRanger. I guess this is pretty hard- and software independent, so developers could built in GameRanger support for Cider-based games as well. Evill just needs to do a more offensive marketing, may even get shareware developers on board, etc...

May I gonna try out some of my own game matching service concepts with my own games someday. Mosquito Ops raised my interest in game developing.

@ Cell: I gonna finish coding first, but of course I'm interested potentially in all kinds of games.

oh active chat, it's been a while.  I still check here every now and then, and I still pop into GR, but just to yap it up and not to play games.  I basically gave up gaming and prioritized more on drinking and doing some graphics on the side.

My Shmexies...I log into GR every 3-4 months, and the forum every 2 months or so. Haven't played any games in ages really. And btw, Cookie, lets mate. We'll make for some hot babies. I miss the fun we all used to have but GR seems to have died, completely. I logged in tonight to see a whopping...30ish people on. I remember on average the bar and grill would have 90+ in it alone. A true shame to see things have degenerated to such a state. It was such a good community. Anyway, hope everyone's well. Especially my ex-FBi, ex-AgT, and still-thriving-*NADS brothers and sisters. And sex companions.

GR does have less people on it but one of the reasons you didn't see alot of people in the bar and grill is GR no longer forces you to be in a chat room when you play games.

I've been playin call of duty on the TWL (Team Warfare League) Mauti probably knows what that is, if the rest of you dont. My clan is on and off ranked #1 for rifles only... so im doing pretty well... still playing on a mac.

I've just realized that this thread gets about one answer per month, so I guess you are all STILL here? Hi Myst, Fah, Ghost. Before I saw the posting dates I was gonna say:

The last time ME logged into GR is like more than a year ago. I figure GR is not in my dock so even tough I wanted to log in, I'd have to figure my password again and everything. Looking at my dock makes me realize that there is no game at all - so I'm using my Mac just for working at the moment as it seems. I played COD4 Modern Warfare for like a few weeks and did that level 55 on my PC. That was kinda fun - but with all the aimbotters and nerds on there not comparizeable with old GHR times with netfone and Warzone on Battlefield or Vilnius, damnit.

This reminds me on the hours - days - weeks I invested into the MGN client (a beta version had chat client/server and an engine allowing hosting and joining to RvS games through chatrooms using unix-style command-line startup parameters for RvS). That was a dream - but it didn't collapse just because of what you say about game developers (basically that you have to get them to implement YOUR engine) but also because of other things suddenly becoming more important. So it went boom and the dream was gone.
So monoman, how many clans are are on ghr these days? I can imagine getting a game rolling again every now and then as COD4 got boring and the need was just awakened for some good-old-style games. Btw - even tough I host these Teamspeak Servers (http://www.macgamenet.com (http://www.macgamenet.com)) for mac users, I don't know about the compatibility of them to GR. Does GR scottie-boy actually allow TeamSpeex or is there like a mess still which we are used to since... when the hell did that start.

There are about 6 clans that are still active and cb each other for GhR. You can find their activity here (http://monoman.planetrainbowsix.gamespy.com/grpa_league/index.php). As for Teamspeak, there is nothing stopping players from using that ingames.
