I j ust ordered my Quad 2.66GHz Intel tower and feel so dirty...  Didn't get any uupgrades but will add a couple GB of memory in near future.

Which bugs? I'm waiting until MWSF 2007 (January) because I figure they'll be bumped them and get a slightly better GPU selection.

     Intel's quad-core processors are going to be rolling out pretty soon, aren't they? I figure Apple will go for the porn-star e-penis and make a new top-of-the-line model with the quad-core processor. I'm saving for one of these bad boys, figure I'll shoot for six months from now to actually make the purchase.

I've got a Rev A G4 and never had any problems for the last 6 years...I need a new machine and this one's perfect for me.  I think the GPU is a little lame but it's fine for now and can be upgraded in a few generations.

Q4 2006 is Clovertown's release. I expect Apple announcement at MWSF 2007 (January [11?th]). Apple certainly is showing some strength recently.

I got my Dell 24" (2407WFP or 2407FPW [depending on where you live]) for only $700 USD BFG.  ;D That makes me one step ahead in our quest for PCs  ;)

Oh you bastard, $700? JEEZE thats so freaking cheap compared to the apple ones... it hurts knowing that a monitor with DELL written on the front is a better buy than apple :(

Problem is i still have a perfectly goo 19" Lacie eletronblue IV montior - which has an excellent image and brilliant color reproduction.... Its just not big enough for my work.

Can i really get a Dell 24" and rig it up with my Lacie as a second monitor... i know i'll end up just wanting two of the Dells!

Question: how easy would it be do you think to remove the Dell name on the front? would a carfull five minutes with a scalpel do the trick do you think?

I'll tell you when it arrives. The sale ended for US; but probably as good UK sales or relatively sized one will begin. They rotate sales around the world on a bimonthly basis.

£619.52 is the current price from Dell in the UK - to translate thats $1,181  not such a great bargain eh.

Tell you what BFG, you can go ahead and scratch off the Dell and marker in LG, they are the ones who OEM for Dell, that is why they are so good. I believe apple was using AUO for theirs, basically the Koreans make a better LCD compared to the Taiwanese.
