Title: Ebay Rocks!
Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on May 06, 2006, 04:06:34 am
Okay, I've been a member of Ebay for a long time...in fact, I was a charter member.  I've always known that there are some really stupid people in this world that will pay more for an item than it's worth, and also others that simply like to outbid the next guy...no matter what the bid ends up at!  Since October of 2005 I have sold some really expensive stuff on Ebay so that I could fund other purchases...I've come out SO good on this stuff that I thought I would share some of the winning bids with you:

Apple 17" PowerBook G4, 1.67GHz
Paid New-$2200
Winning Bid 5 months later-$2400

Canon EOS 20D Digital SLR
Paid New-$1300
Winning Bid 7 months later-$1300

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens
Paid New-$429
Winning Bid 7 months later-$540

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens
Paid New-$1149
Winning Bid 5 months later-$1260

Canon EF 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens
Paid New-$499
Winning Bid 5 months later-$585

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens
Paid New-$599
Winning Bid 5 months later-$650

Apple iPod Video 60GB
Paid New-$379
Winning Bid 2 months later-$415

Epson P-2000 40GB Media Player
Paid New-$429
Winning Bid 2 months later-$465

WACOM Intuos3 6x8 Graphics Tablet
Paid New-$275
Winning Bid 8 months later-$315

There are many more, but this should give you an idea.  What's so funny is that I got a lot of use out of this stuff and was simply upgrading to something better so I sold it.  Now, for my part, when I sell something I always keep the original box and packaging and you won't find a scratch on anything...I take incredible care of my stuff...but still, most of these people are paying over what the stuff costs brand new!

Sure does, as I'm thinking of purchasing New Zealand.

Ya, I have spent many a dollar on ebay. It's the shit if you catch the auction at the right time but you gotta read all the fine print, some people are scumbags.

The co-founders of Ebay, Pierre and Pamela Omidyar, graduated from Tufts University in 1988, the school I'm currently attending.

Earlier this year, they gave us $100,000,000 in Ebay stock.

Gotta love alumni.  ;D

Come on Six, I'm pretty much out of the politics topics on this forum (one of my promises I made Mauti when I took the admin job), so please don't start it up inside one of my threads!

I do comment on politics, religion, etc, when I see a topic that interests me...but I am far more tame about my opinions on here than I used to be.

And besides, the distinction here is that we had in fact accomplished the invasion of Iraq at that time.  Just because terrorists are still blowing things up there doesn't change that fact.
