Ok, hope you guys take the time to watch this if you havent already. Setup: Press Correspondent Dinner...with the president in attendance. These are generally a bit on the 'roasty' side, but have NEVER EVER been this sharp, or this pointed..or this angry. Anyone that could find fault at this routine, is in utter denial of reality...and deserves to be upset. Mr B, and the press got owned hard in this one.....and there was no escape route. Never seen anyone stand and take their shot in the presence of the big man himself like this.... and take those shots at the press that failed our country. Best of all (and you cant see it too clearly in this version) was the look on Mr & Mrs GW faces when it was all over...and the precision of the exit stage right. Maybe no one told them who Colbert was... Yes... Stephen Colbert owns, in fact I like him more then John Stewart (maybe because I have a sarcastic sense of humor). My only problem with him is his support of Jefferey Sachs. Yes, I know the Larouchites say that he wont save us, and I dont nessicarily agree with everything he stands for, but the two party system in this country is a joke. Only a sustained movement around a 3rd party, at least to put significant pressure on the two current parties to re-examine their positions has any hope of changing things.
That having been said, I have yet to see a President or other political figure who I would describe as my hero. If I wanted to worship a politician, I'd move to Venezuela. Ive just been reading in different places on the net...more about that PRESS backlash against it, but a Civilian SURGE of people hunting that clip. ive used a gig and a half of upload bandwidth sending it to everyone i know.. It is insanely popular with everyone but those who work for the 'free' blind press it seems. In its first 48 hours on YouTube...it got..2.5 MILLION views. Cspan made em take it down, as well as off of Steak and Cheese, Ifilm, and others. Amazing..all that press bashing it..and not a FUCKING ONE OF EM, acknowledging WHY so many people have been hunting that clip. I dont think the meme will take hold..too many people that have seen it, know.. hell, we ALL know. Im so anxious to see the midterm elections..i mean like Superbowl anxious. Those will tell us how serious america is about turning things around. Im not entirely convinced that a dem house would really fix things, but it will CERTAINLY get the ball rolling and scare the repubs into distanceing themselves from Mr. B. Well, theyre already doing that..everyone but McCain, that is.. If you're a conservative, and he runs..i beg you..truly beg you..do NOT vote for him. Hes a snake in the gras..
