Title: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: WeedWacker on March 31, 2006, 05:17:29 am I'm running Ghost Recon on an old Mac and am curious to hear what kind of frame rates people get on the new Macs and even the Intel Macs.
At lowest settings and screen at 800x600, I get 30-40 except on complicated maps (lots of textures) where it drops to 20-25. Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on March 31, 2006, 05:56:05 am Well, on my Single-1.8GHz G5 Tower with an ATi Radeon X800XT 256MB Graphics Card and everything on Max, I always peg the 60 fps theoretical limit...but I sometimes get into the 80 fps range on certain maps which seems to dispute the 60 fps cap.[/size]

Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: BFG on March 31, 2006, 12:03:04 pm 1Ghz Quicksilver G4, with a radeon 9800 and low graphics settings but a 1600x1200 res gives me 50/60 fps most of the time, certainly never gets choppy (cough choppy *AA* cough runs like shit)
Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: WeedWacker on April 02, 2006, 03:30:34 pm I'll pass those numbers to my wife, justifying my need for a new Intel Mac :) Sure THAT will be enough proof for her.
Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: :MoD:Shade on April 02, 2006, 04:40:49 pm Oh, with the Intel Macs just FYI you won't get as high FPS. GhR because the requirements are so low will still be playable but expect 40's and 50's.
Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: gsr on April 02, 2006, 07:45:51 pm I checked the FPS for the first time yesterday. My 2 Ghz dual G5 tower, 1 Gb ram w/ATI 128 Mb is in the 60 FPS range. I'm running 1024 x 768 x 32 with most settings low.
I thought perhaps I couldn't hit anything because of low frame rates, but I guess I'm just a bad shot. I'm more interested in GhR3. *drool* Title: Re: Ghost Recon FPS Post by: :MoD:Shade on April 03, 2006, 01:24:31 am True, I'm sure any games developed from now on will be Universal in that case you will benefit considerably :)
