Hello sheep. Im posting here because I would like to introduce myself. Most of you know who I am but for the rest this is your first time. I am KoS.Rebel and I am the Field Reporter for Season 9 of the *DAMN Battle League. First off let me tell you what my job is.

As Field Reporter, my job is to inform you guys once a week on whats going on around the community. My job is to talk about gaming, nothing else, and the community that revolves around the games. The kind of info im talking about is fudes between clans, top clan interviews, player interviews, and plainly whats going on around Gameranger. I will also try to do interviews through Mac Shoutcasting Network rather then just text interviews.

Now most of you may be wondering, what is Rebel going to tell us about today? Well im going to give you all the inside info about the NEW and improved Battle League Season IX. Below are some of the new things the Battle League will present in Season IX.

Registration time : Will start one week before the kick off and end 3 weeks after the start of the season.

3 new ladders have been added including GhR Siege, CoD Ladder, and a BF1942 Ladder.

All winners of the *DAMN Battle League ladders will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The biggest news is the ALL NEW system that will be the core of this seasons play. The new season is based on, you guessed it, SHEEP! Each clan starts with 100 sheep. At the end of the main season, the clan with the most sheep wins the regular season. If your clan loses all its sheep, you are done for the season. Now, you are probably saying, "Well how does my clan GET more sheep?" Well, before warring, both clans decide how many sheep they will bet. The teams DO NOT have to bet the same amount as this will attract clans with little sheep to war the good clans if the clans offer ALOT of sheep if they were to lose. You can bet any number of sheep from 1-Everything. Lets say you want your B squad to get some warring time in, but your not sure if they will win. Just bet one sheep and let em play! Although it sounds genious, betting 1 sheep per match will not move you up the ladder rapidly. Lets say that you like to war with certain members on, your "starting line up". Before this system people wouldnt war unless they were all on. Now if your starters arent on you can still war, you just dont bet alot of sheep.

Now I dont want to forget to say this, but to promote matches, your clan will gain 2 sheep for every 4th match you play. The system is easy to see and easy to use which promotes endless possibilities and promotes gaming.

This coming season looks as if it will bring new life to the community. Good Luck clans.

At the end of each season the day comes, where I announce the winners, stats and future plans and here we go:

z][t defended successfully their GR Team ladder title from season VII and further won the Ghost Recon 2vs2 CQB ladder.

BoC won the Raven Shield ladder.

The FFA ladders: especially the GR one was a big hit: far over 100 active and almost 200 registered players. GhostSniper totally owned this ladder by points and played games. He played unhealthy 61 FFA cbs!

All in all season VIII was a very active one, and the new stat GameRanger Premium feature didn't influence it, to my surprise, in anyway. The Raven Shield ladder is unfortunaly still not that popular: only 37 cbs (47 season VII) have been played. The lack of a thought out user interface and probably the high hardware demands are one of the reasons. The RvS FFA ladder had to less activity to announce a winner. However we gonna stick with the game, at all it's a really nice game.

However some people asked me why the hell are the 3 seasons not during vacations. My BL admins and I have observed the last 7 seasons and further the 2 years BL before and we made the funny observation that in all vacations the activity went down to almost 0. It seems like most of you, as well as I, have the habit to play when we should learn for school or university and not when we have spare time As a consequence we set the dates for the 3 seasons per year as in my previos post to:

Season One: Jan 15- Mar 15 + finals
Season 2 would begin May 1 and run through June 30, + finals
Season 3 would begin Sept 1 and conclude Nov 1 + finals

Season IX will start on 1st september and it will come with lots of surprises that's for sure. The preparations are already in full swing. Some revolutionary ideas should bring us all back to one big Mac gaming table, where bitching has no chance. I'll only give you one hint: you will be totaly owned by sheep, muahahaha! - Let the rumors start

To prevent any confusion... the Finals Timer is one day too short, as several people noticed already. The Finals last, as always, till Sunday Midnight (server timezone).

The Finals last exactly 24 hours longer than what the timer says.
