[Rules 1.75; Set times] - [28.5.2003 ; 6:29 am - by *DAMN Mauti]
A minor rule update:
- You can also organize a cb at a set time. This agreement is equally to a started cb. At the set time: you have to wait at maximum 15minutes until all players are online and ready to play. If less players appear than agreed you have to start with all available players(at least 2) while the other team can play with the agreed number of players. If one team has less than 2 players online after 15minutes the other team wins by forfeit. If a member comes later he can still join the game so make sure that everyone knows the server password(each clan is responsible for their players and that they know the password).
Further I have updated the cheat test rules in the case one player crashes during the cheat test.
- If you crash during the cheat test the other team wins the cb. If the same player crashes a second time in another cb during the cheat test all won cbs with this player will be removed or the whole clan will be banned for the rest of the season. (All clanleaders make sure that your members don't cheat or it could affect your whole clan)
All in all I hope we can come back to a gentlemen's agreement that nobody cheats and glitches soon.
Regards,
Mauti

I don't worry Typhy I said for most violations like not appearing on a set time were you actually didn't play one game. But I gonna start a thread about it once the time comes.

Well, unless you're running OS9, the chances of crashing in a cheat test are very very low, and the fact is, sad as it may be, it simply wouldn't work otherwise.
About the potential Pentalty Points Only for forfits, I'd ask that you please start a thread for that in the battle league before you decide on how to write the rule. If I'm up 4-1 in a CB, I don't want a clan being able to forfit, and not let us have our points. I think I'm not the only one who would like to comment on this. |

With season 5 we will introduce penalty points only instead of forfeits win(for most violations). So some clans can't gain cheap wins but the clan violating the rules gets some penalty points.

It will be interesting to see how well this works out. I think that it's a very good idea, and could make for some well anticipated CBs.
However, I think this also sets itself up for cheapness. A member comes on after 16 minutes, most clans would be cool with it, and let the CB start. However, I know for a fact that there are some clans out there who will say "he's late! We're not playing this! We win by forfit!"
I'll tell you this straight up, I won't be taking any forfit wins, due to people not showing up. In my opinion, you need to settle things on the battle field, and a 6-0 forfit win, with no games played shows no skill whatsoever.
I expect most RS clans to have much the same stance on this issue, with of course, the possible exception of. . . I won't say it, but they know who they are.
I don't expect there to be any problems on the RS ladder. The smaller RS community, in comparison with that of GHR, makes for less arguments, because generaly, the people involved get along well.
However, I look at some of the recent Ghost Recon issues - Glitching, Night Vision/Sniper Scope cheats, etc. If people are going to use things like that to win a CB, what do you think will happen with this new challenge ( set time ) rule?
Of course I hope that this all works out. I am simply trying to point out to everyone, that if the goal of your challenge is to force the other team to forfit, this system will fail.
Make an effort to help this work out. If a clan doesn't show up, use it as a chance to make an exellent PR move - agree not to count it as a forfit, but to play it later. |
